In my experience, depends on venue size and city. Night before, at least in SoCal, is advisable for smaller venues. Then I've scored great deals on arena/stadium shows in the afternoon on the day of.

My group is going on Labor Day but I'm looking for a single on Sunday because I'm going a few days early to catch The Who Saturday.

There is a growing chance I have an extra up in section 236 for Monday but won’t know until the day of you guys need to separate. A friend’s wife unexpectedly wants to do a family Disney trip over the holiday. He’s trying to fly up while they fly home.
Will be there til Tuesday. Could walk in with you guys, could pay cash, venmo or Paypal day of.

Agreed; the shows I saw in 2011 were phenomenal. I'm not interested in the Earthlings, but I would love to see Ed on his own again.
Your sweet spot for buying concert tickets is the night before the show. Inventory seems to dry up the day of the show.
That was true from 2022-2024. I have found this year there are many shows where it’s not the case.

In the Oasis comments a few posts ago someone mentioned they didn’t think they’d see a ticket harder than PJ in Hollywood, FL.
It’s funny, I think Pittsburgh was actually tougher! In FL I got box office drop night one walking into venue and sold the seats I had, and night two I waited in line about seven hours for box office drop. Pittsburgh I was set with tickets but loosely monitored ticket drops and I didn’t see anything.
I wasn't talking about Ticketmaster as I haven't had success there in something like 5 years. I don't even bother anymore as I am usually 150,000 in the queue. For places like Stubhub, wait until a day or two before. Especially for shows with big GA sections where all of the tickets are the same.
For people concerned about an Eddie Vedder tour, I was offered 6 GA tickets for free on the way into the Vegas show. I actually paid 50% of face value, so that sucked.
This time might be different though, especially if there’s only a few shows (which is what I suspect will be the case). With no PJ on the horizon, more people may be willing to travel, and the demand for Ed and the Earthlings shows may be much higher than what we’ve seen in the past.
Also, I think there’s no GA for EV - it’s all reserved seats. If that’s the case, then I suspect some of us will spend the run up to the shows attempting to find the best seats.

At the risk of sounding ridiculous, how was the merch line?
Chicago wasn't too bad. Just cold since we were lined up outside of the theater in February. After the show wasn't too bad either.
I didn’t think i would ever have a harder time finding aticket to a show that PJ Hollywood 2, but i was wrong. Still looking for a ticket to Oasis in Jersey 10 months later. Only have about 50 days left. The four of us will rep our Pearl Jam shirts. Have flights,hotels and everything else booked. Just looking for tickets.
Same with me, but I’m still looking for Chicago tickets for Oasis. Just looked again today and cheapest tickets I found were $500 per ticket. That’s a little steep for Oasis as I’ve seen them five times. But got the hotel booked and day off… just looking for tickets.
It's tougher than finding Pearl Jam GA on Ticketmaster but Twickets is the Face Value exchange. It's an officially sanctioned company that does F2F for UK performances (concerts, theaters, etc) with different ticketing agencies (TM doesn't have a complete monopoly there....yet anyway). I didn't known until last year that they did US shows too. I haven't seen any for MetLife or Solider Field but Rose Bowl tickets pop up frequently.
