After the largest dam removal in US history, Indigenous youth paddled 300 miles down the restored Klamath River. The journey, led by Paddle Tribal Waters, reconnected Native communities to ancestral waters and honored decades of tribal activism. Salmon have already begun returning, signaling rapid ecological recovery and renewed cultural ties.

    That's such a great story.
Many years ago, my brother lived outside one of the reservation areas up there so we heard a fair amount about the indigenous peoples' struggles to have the river freed of that dam and to have more control of the area restored to the tribal peoples.
Little victories that make a huge difference for some lives.

I didn't really know where to place this, so i picked this thread... For me, I just always basically figured this was the case, and between all other living things in earth (fwiw, I'm an atheist).

    Fascinating, thanks for sharing this!

Mother nature is so wise and amazing.  How is it that humans, with our big brains, could have fallen so far (at risk of our own peril) from that wisdom?

A data center the size of manhattan? Well, that should bode well for the planet. Someone ask AI in which year will planet earth become uninhabitable, please? Anyone know any AI guys or gals? Anyone?

I don't see what the problem here is, bud.  A data center the size of Manhattan would only use use about 750 quadrillion watts of power per hour and most likely would not heat the planet up more the 5 degrees Celsius.   No biggie.

    We can do this, baby!

I tried getting a correlations to AI but AI wouldn’t bite, best reply…this may be before Jeff retires, so get ready…

“According to some estimates, Earth could become uninhabitable for humans within the next 1.75 billion years due to the sun's increasing brightness. However, other sources say the timeframe could be closer to 1.1-1.2 billion years. Some models even suggest that Earth could become uninhabitable within the current century due to climate change. These shorter timeframes are based on the impacts of climate change on human survival, rather than the sun's evolution. Ultimately, the exact date when Earth becomes uninhabitable is uncertain and depends on various factors.”

    ok, tried pollution, you win…

“While the Earth isn't expected to become completely uninhabitable due to pollution in the near future, certain regions could become significantly less hospitable for human populations within the next few decades due to climate change impacts. Reports indicate that we have a limited window of time, potentially until 2040, to limit global warming and avoid irreversible damage.

Fits perfectly with his m.o.:  destroy and create havoc.  He is tearing down as many environmental safeguards as possible, not to mention putting a madman in change of health.  Rat Fink Kennedy is ridding the agency he rules over of people who work to promote preventative medicine because he finds those people to be too "woke".  I guess we should all start taking our daily chlorine cocktails.
His entire agenda is based on destroying democracy, ruining lives, and ruining the planet as much as possible.  I'd say that qualifies as a good definition for "evil".

BP has made its largest oil and natural gas discovery in 25 years off the coast of Brazil, in a potential big boost for the British company following its strategic shift away from renewable energy to refocus on fossil fuels.
