Check out this film if you get a chance some time.  It's excellent!

I am floating around the room on a drug called Great Sounding Music.  I've had Achtung Baby on CD for a while and its good, but this 2018 European vinyl pressing simply blows me away.  This has to be one of the very best sounding LPs in my collection.  OUTSTANDING!

It's an excellent pressing, no doubt.  Great bass and great record.  Notice that every song is a love song, but all from different directions.

Yeah, good point!  I'm still slowly (on purpose) reading Bill Flanagan's U2 At the End of the World.  At the time, Bono was having a hard time weaving through the conflicting roles between home life as Paul the husband/dad with music work/touring life as Bono. Edge had divorced not too far back.   Adam was crashing into love, living the quintessential rock star life while questioning his loyalty to the band.  And Larry was just trying to keep the band he loved together.  So yeah, love songs from different directions.  Fascinating!

Another thing that intrigues me is where Flanagan talks about "Until the End of the World" being about a conversation between Jesus and Judas.  That's possibly common knowledge by now, but I'm really late to the game with this record, so that struck me as really interesting.

If that's common knowledge, I never heard it, but I'm not a U2 savant.  Very interesting, but also great song on a record chock full of them.

Yeah, it's such a great record!  I don't know why to  took me so long to realize that, but it's a current favorite now, for sure!

I was pretty stoked to find this excellent copy of Diamond Dogs today as well as a super clean silver label GSTQ single (because, you know, you can never have enough of those). And after over 40 years of collecting Sex Pistols records I finally bought a stock UK copy of Flogging A Dead Horse. I also picked  up a signed Alex Van Halen book on the cheap too.

There were a couple volumes of the Attention! compilations. Volume 1 was a mix of songs from the first two albums. They were records that were released by (WWA label) and licensed out by their crook manager Patrick Meehan at the time that the band never saw any money from.

Tremendously awesome record.  I'm partial to Learning to Crawl, but only by a hair.

I happen to see Pretenders a year or two ago down in Ohana and holy crap did she kick some ass.  He was a bad mofo on that stage, with her still powerful voice sounding exactly like it did in the 80s.  Love her.  She's awesome.
