Had a random thought today: anyone watch Snatch with the subtitles on?
Hugh Freaking Dillon is currently out of the office, returning sometime in the fall after a very restful summer exploring the Great Canadian Wilderness and beaches, listening to Pearl Jam, Headstones, Watchmen, Queens of the Stone Age, and many others.

This was horribly acted by terrible actors. Except the lead. I stopped watching halfway through; wife powered through. Watched the last few minutes of it.
Stupid twist at the end Tyler Perry thinking he’s M Night Shalamalamadingdong.

subtitles drive me nuts. wife and kids insist on them. I won't watch with them (unless of course it's a foreign language film)

Unpredictable on the race tracks. But therefore often talking about what’s going on or what’s possible and why - like a commentary. Pitt’s driver is interesting enough but to me the modern F1 world is no cinema gold. Best watched with nothing more in sight than the big screen - row three / centre seat for me.
cut off from the F1 poster IMAX can only be the other best way to watch it. Anyway, the Formula 1 can’t deliver such an on the track attraction via TV broadcast - by far.
+ pretty clear to me: F1 can’t outrun RUSH or LE MANS 66 or SENNA or Grand Prix or The World’s Fastest Indian (for example)
Once I saw NASA space footage in a IMAX theatre. But I was never interested in watching a feature film IMAX version. Oppenheimer IMAX 🤣 was probably the worst compared to the standard cinema in recent years - bigger bang and nothing more. I prefer any cinema screen & a centre seat close enough to the screen > to fill the field of view nearly exact with the size of the screen. There are no people in front of me! (99.XX %) Some prefer practically a mobile phone screen size in a cinema.
French Connection IMAX…;) I would try it and would travel some KM for it.
A brand new Bond-take and without the Broccoli/Wilson team, feels like going to see an old 70s/80s band where the closest to an original member is like the bands fourth bass player still hanging around.
Completely uninterested. Denis doesn't make me more interested, but granted he is a clever creative "copycat" of former styles. So who knows, hopefully he doesn't copy the Craig bonds but goes back to the class of Connery. Doubt Amazon would want anything but more Craig-esque hard-hitting premium action though. ZZZ
But have rather have seen Tarantinos Casino Royale take with an elder Pierce Brosnan 🤩

I was fairly disappointed with this. The ending in particular was just silliness. I did enjoy Ralph Fiennes in it though. And luckily it was still a very enjoyable theatre experience, because we had the VIP theatre to ourselves, so were able to drink wine and grab freely the entire movie. Lots of fun.

These movies are all about on the same level IMO (entertaining maybe), but I always enjoy them a little more because every single one is filmed in greater Vancouver, and they use a lot of well-known locations. It's fun to see my hometown in movies. The best of this one is the beginning. That crab fountain and the super cool building behind it is all real - it's the planetarium, and where I went countless times on acid to see the Pink Floyd or Led Zeppelin lazer light shows in the 90s, lol. The crab fountain is kind of a great love of mine - it's incredible. The only fake part in the movie is the crazy tower they AI'd (or is it still cgi'd??) onto it.

Furiosa (streamed - enjoyed it but maybe 30mins too long). Just my opinion.
