Saw The Who in 2007. When they released videoboots of their shows.

A lot of older-than-middle age women with wine glasses a-bit-too-drunk down on the floor. Mixed with not that interesting songs to begin with.

    I'm good.

    (Who's next is great though)

$40 for Van Halen/Alice in Chains in 1991.

adjusting for inflation, that should be no more than $93.92 today. There is no excuse for these ridiculous prices. But companies and artists figured out that experiences can be marketed as once-in-a-lifetime and thus, deserve to be catastrophically more expensive to better adjust to their "worth". it will only change if everyone stops going. It will never, ever happen.
Adjust also for percentage of revenue streams for an artist.

Like my successful Swedish artist friend said; "back in the 80s/90s the tours were there to drive the CD/LP/Cassette-sales - we didn't make any money touring."

But like you said, obviously it's an eventification part of it all also. The same with movies in a way.

Saw the Who once.  I’m good.
Me too. Kind of a “might regret it if I don’t” thing. Went with my dad.

    Never really understood the appeal.

Hate to say it but to have really appreciated The Who I think you would have had to have seen them between 1967 and maybe 1976.
They were my favorite band for a long time. I saw them in 2000 when they still had John and it was incredible! Would have loved to seem them between 67-76, but had that issue of not being alive yet.

Ticket prices wouldn’t be as high if people bought music instead of streaming and stealing music. I blame millennials 😄

A minor detail as it were, lol.
But seriously, I totally get why anyone not born yet in the late sixties would want to see an iconic band like The Who.  If I were younger and could, I would.

Honestly, I felt they should've stopped touring as The Who after John died. I love Pete and Roger, but it hasn't sounded like The Who in quite awhile (over 20 years). Touring as Daltrey Townshend acoustic would have been amazing, and jived better with their current physical limitations. I think they picked the brand over the art.

Pete should just do a solo tour he’s got an amazing catalog! Roger just seems like an old man shouting at the clouds

I saw Pete with his solo band in the early 90s...it was a dream come true to see him perform his solo songs!

I was just looking at Philly and plenty of seats there too.

MAYBE, because the prices are too high?

Still haven't decided if I'm going to see them. Last second decision.

“Standard” priced $1500 tickets are down to half price for Vancouver and still aren’t selling. How low will they go 👀

I’d pay 100$ for a ticket but no more

It’s gross that they fluctuate the standard price tickets. Premiums, sure, but when they do this with “standard” it really leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Been seeing it more and more lately.
