I tried seeing it in 35 mm here last year, but my son bailed on me for something else, so I didn’t go.

The movie is worth it I think. Great shots of L.A. Nice soundtrack. Pacino might be on the edge of over the top in a few scenes, but it’s solid.

Also I think heavily re-graded on homevideo, so would be cool seeing it in it's theatrical garb.

The same with The Matrix, which I frist read was being shown on 35mm on the 23d if July. But turned out it was IN BORING June.

    How was this?

I really enjoyed the first couple of acts. Thought it was maybe going in a different direction. 3rd act takes a turn. It’s definitely scary as some of the subject matter is quite topical.

Interesting… maybe I’ll give it a try tonight

I felt like the third act was not quite as good. But an interesting look at uber rich and maybe how they see the world.

Haven't watched it yet, but on Bulwark yesterday it happened to be mentioned that at least 17% of it was hilarious in the Succession sense, haha. I am looking forward to it!

I think i forgot to add this to my top 10 favourite movies in that other thread. I kind of get the feeling that it is more dismissed now than it used to be, and I am not sure why. Is it because Mel Gibson went crazy? In any case, I think it is fucking phenomenal across the board, and it should have won more academy awards than it did. The production value of it is pretty much mind blowing, particularly the battle scenes.

Side note: I am actually a direct decendent of Robert the Bruce. He's my great grandpa times whatever number.  I know it sounds like BS, but in my case it is actually verified, lol. That makes this movie, even though there is only a very minor relation to real history in it, even more enjoyable, even though Robert the Brice fucked things up, haha.

Also, this movie makes me cry like a motherfucker.

I've been sick. Obviously having a mid-90s-hit binge.
Okay, anyone who says this movie isn't great movie actually might be an asshole, lol. I know there is some hipster idea that it isn't good (I would have thought that I got that idea exclusively from This is the End, but then i saw a filmmaker friend of mine say it). Fuck that shit. It is amazing. Especially where Forrest is responsible for Watergate. Not to mention that it was a breakthrough technologically. Super duper classic that I will love until the end of time.

Had a lot of fun with this. It gets better as it goes along, and has quite the finish. Bring on Badlands. (Also, a Michael Biehn voice cameo!)

I enjoyed this more than I thought I would. It’s completely predictable, but has enough fun moments.
It probably helped that 3/4 of the theatre was taken up by karateka from my son’s dojo. We took over the place and it made for a great atmosphere.

Was on cable the other day. Hadn't seen it in forever. Classic Arnold lol.

I saw the remake in theaters, but I honestly don't remember a thing about it.
May your days be long, til kingdom come.
