Sure, but its funny how people think these poor rock stars need a long break after, what, 48 shows in 365 days. These poor men, how ungodly.enddem said:

They only played 11 shows after being off for FIVE months!!!! Thats, five MONTHS, not days, not even weeks, but MONTHS!!! Thats a nice stretch, one us working mutts only dream of….Jadler said:I think they are most certainly taking a well deserved break. However, I would be surprised if we don’t see/ hear from the band before 2027. Jeff had some great remarks at the end of the Rick Beato interview about life and loss. He talks about how he would drop anything to play with the guys, not taking the time they have together for granted, etc. I thought it was really genuine/ powerful message. Mike also agreed that he’s at his best when they are all together. They’ve got a ton of great momentum going right now. I think they’ll build on that.Pearl Jam are in their twilight, they are very aware of that. No way they play no shows for a year or two, not going to happen0 -
It was a trifecta of bad decisions……drfox said:
Yep. And I still don’t get why some people don’t understand why the late announcement was key to the low ticket sales on some of the PJ Euro 2024 dates (much more so than the ticket prices). Same thing happened in 2023/2024. Foo fighters announced June 23 and PJ in Feb 24. Couldn’t go to Dublin PJ as bought my FF London ticket 8 months earlier (shows on the same night)matt84 said:Metallica have announced their Summer EU/UK 2026 tour dates.0 -

In Pitt he said it would be 1-2 years until they returned to the microphone, but im pretty sure he said THIS microphone. So maybe he just specifically meant pittsburgh, haha.

No evidence to back it up, but I also believe they will be working on a new album sooner than we might expect. Its also worth mentioning that Matt may be busy at work on the final soundgarden tracks"Well, I think this band is incapable of sucking."

Well, we know they recorded in Australia...
But I bet they don't do much together for the rest of the year.Presidential Advice from President-Elect Mike McCready: "Are you getting something out of this all encompassing trip?"0 -
Wasn't that rumour of recording in Aus just part of a radio show prank involving Stone?Lost In Ohio said:SomethingCreative said:No evidence to back it up, but I also believe they will be working on a new album sooner than we might expect. I thought the song title they gave was obviously a joke but the studio part seemed real0

As much as Dark Matter is a good album, I really hope the next tour is not a new album tour.PJ: 2013: London (ON); Buffalo; 2014: Cincinnati; 2016: Sunrise, Miami, Toronto 1-2, Wrigley 2; 2018: London (UK) 1, Milan, Padova, Sea 2, Wrigley 1-2, Fenway 1-2; 2021: SHN, Ohana, Ohana Encore 1-2; 2022: LA 1-2, Phx, Oak 1-2, Fresno, Copenhagen, Hyde Park 1-2; Quebec, Ottawa, Hamilton, Toronto; MSG, Camden, Nashville, Louisville, St. Louis, OKC; 2023: St. Paul 1-2, Chicago 1-2; Fort Worth 2; Austin 1-2; 2024: Vancouver 1-2, LV 1-2, LA 1-2, Napa, Barcelona 1-2; Indy; Chicago 1-2; MSG 1-2; Philly 2; Boston 2; Ohana 1-2; 2025: FL 1-2, ATL 1-2, Nash 1-2, Pit 1-2.

I found the non-album tours to be way less inspired shows than when the band has new music.RatherStarved said:As much as Dark Matter is a good album, I really hope the next tour is not a new album tour.
2005 I thought was really special, and although I didn’t attend Europe 2007 the setlists looked great.
2006 and 2007 were better than 2008.
2009 and 2010 were better than 2011 and 2012.
2013-2016 was better than 2018.
I think the live shows lose steam the longer they tour the same record.
At the age PJ is at, I’d rather they make as much new music as possible.0 -
I wish the Dark Matter Tour had gone on for another year too — with stops in South America and Europe, like a solid 10-date run at least. But yeah… didn’t happen.
Anyway, I got the feeling the band maybe jammed on a few ideas while they were in Australia, but definitely not full-on recording sessions for the next album. Jeff said in that Beato interview that they’re thinking about album #13, like tossing around ideas on how they might go about recording it. That doesn’t mean they’ve started — honestly, I don’t think they will for at least another 6 to 12 months, minimum.
Wouldn’t be surprised if Ed hits the West Coast with the Earthlings right after Ohana — maybe a quick two-week run. Then he probably heads down to Australia and New Zealand for a tour w/ Earthlings in November. Meanwhile, the Soundgarden guys are gettin’ inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame — and I could totally see that window, say from October 2025 to January 2026, as the perfect time to finish what’s likely gonna be the band’s final record.
As for Pearl Jam? I doubt they’ll be up to much during that time. But hey, once the Dark Matter Tour officially wraps, they could still come back to Europe in 2026, or hit South America again — just like they did in 2018, two tours with no new album in sight. If that’s the case, I wouldn’t expect the next Pearl Jam record to drop before 2028.
On the flip side, if they lay low in 2026 — and Ed goes on a European summer tour with the Earthlings instead — then yeah, maybe the band gets back in the studio and finishes the album by early 2027. They could hit the road again that summer, maybe starting in North America or Europe. Whichever one doesn’t happen first will probably happen later that same year.
That’s just how I see it.

I wouldn’t expect it before ‘28 under any circumstance. The last time they released an album less than 3 1/2-4 years after the last one was 2002. They haven’t been on a quick turnaround in decades. And worth noting they sat on DM for a full year while Stone and Jeff “fought” in interviews over whether it was close to halfway done.raindog80 said:If that’s the case, I wouldn’t expect the next Pearl Jam record to drop before 2028

We hopefully will remember this for the next recording cycle - one band member says halfway done, another band member will say at the goal line.kmcmanus said:

Take band members comments with a grain of salt.Certain people that post here give us heads-up when tour dates are booked or dates when records are coming out and they are more credible than the comments the band makes.0 -
With that in mind, I guess we can hope for a non-album tour in 2027 like we got in 2023.kmcmanus said:
