Lower interest rates will cause the sell off. Maybe they see that happening.Jearlpam0925 said:T bonds have been downgraded 3 times in less than 15 years, twice in the last two. I'd call that a lot.0 -
There’s lots of curious financial moves happening. Just because we clawed back doesn’t make me feel better. I think q3 data will be tough. I missed the window to sell two months ago but still seriously thinking of liquidating and paying taxes on it. Sit out a a year.0

Maybe you have not seen the military line up in a Chinese town square. Very much communist. Unless you have only been to Beijing or Shanghai. They hide behind mirrors in those cities. It is very much a military state.0 -

Communism is when the means of production are controlled by the state. Nazi Germany was a military state and diametrically opposed to communism. China allows private companies, although not free.Get_Right said:mrussel1 said:

Right. Ever seen an employee dorm in China? Shiny steel gates outside a factory? Make no mistake, China does control production, except for maybe smaller operations. And they subsidize it. And they have forced labor. They may have allowed western influence, but when you get to the cotton mills, factories, and the mines, there is no question about who is calling the shots. I speak from years of experience with boots on the ground. Even when you stay in a five star hotel, they are watching your every move. I have gotten calls in my room asking me if anyone stopped by. From the second you clear immigration they are monitoring you. It is the only place in the world I have visited where heavily armed soldiers stood outside my hotel. That includes Mexico City and South America. It is 100% percent a controlled state.0 -

As of me writing it that was the case, now, not so much.
Fed says now that no lowering the interest rates through June and July. Bond investors want more yield so they aren't buying and now Wall Street took notice.
This is all stemming from the new "tax bill".0 -

Because they might have a little bit of money in the middle east. The average Chinese criminal has a bad gun and a 20 year old Daihatsu. Blacked out with no license plates and looking to find to money to serve a new years dinner to the family. Or a farmer that lays down on the road in front of "police" because no one will buy his ducks. Sounds silly, but that is my experience in China.0 -
I have heard stories like that from there! Another one from the Middle East. A guy was fired from a job in Iraq. He took it very seriously and brought back an AK and shot it in the air wanting his job back. They gave it to him... Huh? Really?Get_Right said:tempo_n_groove said:
