I picked up a few things over the holidays. I bought a Weller full proof. Was also given a Blantons gold, Weller 12 yr, and Noah Mills.

I gave away a bottle of little book infinite bottle.
I am opening my Little Book Infinite tonight! Then next up will be Bookers Reserves.  Already had some OGD 16 year and Hardin's Creek Frankfort.  What has gotten into Jim Beam lately!!!
How did you like the OGD 16?
It’s good but not great. I would have probably loved it if they had it at 114 proof instead of 100. I think $130 would have been a fair price. Not a must have IMO.
Yeah, that's what I've heard about it.  I really like OGD 114 and got bummed to hear about so many "meh" reactions to it.

I was wondering how it is. OGD 114 is fine the way it currently is.

    Need to resurrect this one!

Enjoying Henry McKenna 10 year tonight because it's my best bottle and it's my birthday.

Happy late Birthday!  I've had two McKenna 10s.  One was incredible and the other was liquid garbage.  I realize it's the nature of single barrels, but the garbage bottle was also the one post-hype where it became hard to find and cost $25 more.  Glad to see it come down in price and now available all the time here.

I recently tried the McKenna 10 and I really enjoyed it..

while I was in Nashville for PJ, we took a drive out near Franklin, to the Leiper’s Fork Distillery. We did the tour and tasting, and they make some fantastic stuff. I came back with a bottle of their Tennessee whiskey and a bottle of their rye. I’ll probably order a bottle of their bourbon from them as well at some point. I also brought back a bottle of Uncle Nearest 1884.

Let us know how the rye is.  There are plenty of good bottles out there for not a ton of money.

I really liked the rye that I sampled at the tasting. They don't make it as much as the Tennessee Whiskey or Bourbon because of the effort required to clean afterward, so its a little pricier, but its really good. It was probably my favorite that I tasted. It was $99 at the distillery. I saw them selling it for $149 a bottle in the airport.

For $100 it had better be good, lol.  I only spend that much on select bottles now.

I rarely will spend that much. I splurged because I was on vacation and I knew I wouldn't be able to find these whiskeys in Washington.

Another thing.  The experience makes you enjoy a bottle too sometimes.  Let me know if its still the same at home.

I'll look to see if I can get this too now.

    XD

    Thanks for the recommendation.
