Of course Grohl sabotages the only thing the Foo Fighters have done in the last 15 or 20 years to really pique my interest. If he hires Shane Hawkins, I might just lose the little amount of respect I have left for him.
Josh Freese is a National Treasure... I can't wait for his top 10 list.
I am no expert, but doesn't replacing a drummer require A LOT of rehearsal time. The band can't be too thrilled unless there were actual problems.
I also predict the replacement will be someone's kid.
A good enough drummer will know the songs before he even sets foot in the rehearsal space. I wouldn’t think that would be much of a hangup for the rest of the band. As I said to Hugh, based on Freese’s resume, I would be surprised to hear he was a problem or difficult to work with. Does that mean something didn’t happen here? No, but if there WERE problems, I wouldn’t expect Freese to put out the note he did. If it wasn’t working for some reason or another I would have thought at this age and stage of their careers they all would accept that & move on… the note’s weird to say the least. (But again, I don’t know any of the parties involved personally, so what do I know?)
Idk, maybe JF is being petty here, maybe DG is being a dick… maybe both or maybe neither. Maybe we’ll find out some day. Or maybe not. 🤷♂️
