Manchester 25/06/24 The one thing that we think about when we're not here... When we think of you, which is often... Manchester?.. Those people are tough... Manchester's tough... I mean, there are some guys right up here that they would fuck you up... And it started getting a little tight during the Porch song, and then I asked you to go back, and you went back... That was very kind... I really appreciate that... That's a badass tough guy that can understand a large group behaviour... The other good thing about Manchester: You could be a tough guy, and you don't have to have a firearm or a gun like in the United States... We have what they call a sergeant general... He's official position is to look out for the health of the civilians and the constituents... And he declared it a public emergency... That, you know, we have to start studying... That we have to, somehow, create some reasonable... You don't have to think about this... You're lucky... It's nice to be in a room with some real tough guys, and not the ones that... I was getting choked up there... There's a surfer in Hawaii... He was an activist, surf coach, actor... He lost his life on the North Shore yesterday... It was a good friend of our friend Jack Johnson... I got to know him over the years... He used to surf pipeline... So, we want to send one out to Mr. Tamayo Perry... We're thinking about you, and your family... Your community... And thanks again for propping us up tonight... I needed your help big time... I needed some tough guys, and tough girls... You've heard of these things that we put out...They're called Christmas singles... Every once in a while, they come out on Christmas... But they're rarely get played live... This one who knows if we'll ever get another chance to play it live?.. But last year's single, I guess you call it a duet with myself and Ms. Corin Tucker... One of our favourite tours a number of years ago was with Sleater-Kinney opening for us... We missed them immensely, and since Corin lives in this town... Wherever the fuck we are... Florida 24/04/25 I'd like to make a toast... We've been playing music with this guy for decades and decades... Every night, we've had the great fortune of sharing the stage with him... He's been absolutely magnificent each and every gig, not a one missing... I just want to raise a toast to the great, great Matt Cameron... As I've mentioned before, we were invited here by a very very special group of people... They ask us for years... This is their place... This is their land... I'm talking about our friends, the Seminole tribe of Florida... It's for their perseverance that we are fortunate enough to come here, and on top of that, before the show they honoured us as a band for our continuous work with the indigenous peoples all throughout our country... But I will say, all the work that we were commented for was actually done by one man... And that's our very own, Jeff Ament... In the last 25-30 years, he's been overseeing and funding, and building skate parks on reservations all throughout the land... I asked him tonight: How many?... He was guessing 42... 42 skate parks... A few years ago, they had a ceremony at the end of christening one of the parks... Maybe it was in Montana?... They christened it and also gave Jeff the name Holds Water... That's very very powerful... And I tell you, it's very true... 35 years of being in a band with him, and there's never been a leak... He certainly holds water... Jeff Ament, we toast you... And he wrote this song... It's called Won't Tell... ~ Eddie Vedder
