That poster looks somewhat inspired by this iconic Street Fighter drawing:

A little bit. Reminds me of when I totally owned that game on Super NES. I was all about using Guile. Or Chun Li.

Hmm. It’s interesting. And that last scene is a doozy/wtf. Not my favorite from Denis.

    You like The Monkey?

I didn't love it right after watching it, but then after thinking about it and the themes and analysis, I did enjoy it overall. Sometimes I'm too dumb after the first watch to get all the themes, lol.

Rust isn’t the latest entry in the personal top favourite Western short list. It’s also clearly not an instant classic but it was well worth watching it in a cinema. Before the rolling end credits there is the dedication to the victim of the deadly incident on set that made headlines + a quoted sentence by her. With the following credits it looks like Alec Baldwin had a Western dream and made it real - after going through hell because of the camera woman’s death in his production.

Family affair and bounty hunting are the main ingredients. There’s a kid in the movie who should be on the poster. The kid & the old guy duo is ok but never lead to such a positive effect like both duo in the two True Grit Western.
To me some other newer Western -
Hostiles, Jane got a Gun, the remakes of True Grit and 3:10 to Yuma, The Salvation, Horizon -
for example are all CLEAR more exciting than Rust - and worth a second watch.
Can’t say that about Rust. Rust is made without any really outstanding thing in the film - not a second.
But Rust’s 130 Minutes felt clearly not that long and if you are in Western, it’s pretty easy to see something better than a flop.

@CarryTheZero, I didn't like it much, I really can't remember the story and how accurate the film was..but it had some interesting death scenes.
