Trump will do whatever he can not to take the L on this by having to can Hegseth. Until they can spin this to some positive, he's not getting the axe. None of this is surprising though. Hegseth and RFK are both circling the drain to see which of them can burn it all down the fastest and are drawing the most public outcry by words and actions.

That's what I'm thinking...they will find a different role for him that is better, much better, than SecDef. He's done so well they need him elsewhere.

I have no history of having big-time-important jobs. I have no history with the military. I would be totally unfit for secretary of defense.

But I say with 100% confidence, I would not show one one-hundredth of the level of dangerous incompetence this guy is showing. It's almost like the incompetence is an intentional part of the package; "nothing matters as long as you show total devotion."

Frankly, I think the very fact that you recognize that you're not fit to do the job already makes you more qualified than Pete Hegseth. Any decent, patriotic human, when offered such an important job, would pause and ask themselves if they were even remotely qualified before accepting the role.
