"REPORTER: You focused on what Ukraine has to give up. What concessions will be demanded of Putin?
HEGSETH: Hmm. I would start by saying that the arguments that have been made that somehow sitting down at the table right now is making concessions to Vladimir Putin, I just reject that outright.
REPORTER: Yes, but every “peace talk” so far has been about what Ukraine has to give up – territory, NATO aspirations, sovereignty. So what exactly is Putin putting on the table?

looking for confirmation. none yet but given the scrubbing of anything lgbtq related under the current admin, its not out of the realm of possibility or in my estimation probability.

This is extremely disturbing to me.  A few hours ago, I found out someone very close to me, someone who served three tours of duty in Iraq, a man who, for the last several year, suffered from PTSD and all the major trauma associated with it, very recently committed suicide (either yesterday or this morning).
I am disgusted with this administration beyond words.

Defense Department restrictions on civilian travel mean that some potential recruits will have to travel farther to take the military’s entrance exam, as remote testing centers cut back hours or close entirely.

The Army’s U.S. Military Entrance Processing Command, which administers the entrance exam for all branches of the military, can no longer transport test proctors to all testing sites due to the department’s recent requirement that travel by civilian employees be curtailed.

Many civilian workers within the DoD have transitioned from their uniformed role into similar positions as a civilian. They bring years (or decades) of experiences with them. If they transitioned in the past two years, they are considered "probationary" but are absolutely not new or unseasoned.

This is a huge brain drain in our military they claim to be rebuilding.

Trump’s executive order is blocking young Americans from serving in the military—including those who have dreamed of serving their country their whole lives.

Instead of strengthening our Armed Forces, he's shutting out willing recruits for political reasons. Disgraceful.

I was pissed today when someone asked trump if he felt bad for putting so many people out of work and his response was something to the effect of "they aren't working anyway."

The practice of faking some test results in the Evraz North America facility in Oregon was "widespread," an internal investigation reportedly concluded.

The Navy is offering voluntary honorable discharges to transgender sailors and Marines who self-identify by March 28 or risk being involuntarily separated.

Sailors and Marines no longer eligible for military service, as well as potential new recruits, might be considered for a retention or recruitment waiver on a case-by-case basis provided there is a “compelling government interest” in that individual’s ability to support “warfighting capabilities.”

The directive marks a reversal from a previous Marine Corps policy issued in 2022 that prohibited the service from administratively separating Marines solely based on the condition, which is caused when curled hairs grow back into the skin, resulting in inflammation.
