Isabel Merced is still nice to look at. I'm not gonna tune out just yet. If the story is compelling enough, I'll stick with it.
Ha. Pedro Pascal was nice to look at. Sigh. But Gabriel Luna will do. 😏😏😏😏😄😄😄 But seriously, I’ll definitely keep watching to see how it all plays out.
Ellie and abby are the main characters in the 2nd game...yes joel is really dead , buggles my mind reading comments of people thinking he may return lol but u havent seen anything yet...the beauty of the story of the 2 game is that there is always a side to every story...

Showrunners said he still has numerous flashback scenes coming. So technically, he will return.
Wonder if viewership will go down. Some don't want to watch anymore. It's one thing to finish the game. But to continue with a series is another thing
I was thinking to myself "do I really want to watch a show where this annoying entitled teenager is the lead character?". Interesting to see where it goes in the short term, anyway.
I wouldn't describe her as entitled, but I did think, even before the events of the second episode played out, that I wasn't looking forward to a full season of Sullen Ellie, especially when compared to the Sunny Ellie of the first season, who delighted in a good pun and helped to turn Sullen Joel into Not-So-Sullen Joel.

I adored Punny Ellie. 😄 But I am looking forward to her vengeful side.
I think this is how they will break the 2nd game story into the show.
Season 2 - start of the game and all the flashback scenes , ends with joel's death Season 3 - starts after joel's death ends with theathre scene season 4 - abby's side with lev and end game with ellie on the beach
I hope they only do 3 seasons. Mostly because I hate how shows take 2+ years off between seasons now. Season 1 ended march '23 and season 2 started April '25. Seems to be more common to have a big break and I forget everything and have to wait over 2 years to see what happens next.

DRIVES ME BATTY. So many shows I have to do research on to recall what happened in the last season 2 or 3 years ago. So stupid.

They said they're only doing 3 seasons. Splitting the story of Part II up over 2 seasons.

If it seems like this is happening more often, part of that is because of the disruptions to production caused by the writers' and actors' strikes in 2023 and, before that, the COVID restrictions of 2020-21. It's not necessarily an artistic choice to have two years between seasons.

yeah, time will tell if this becomes the norm, now that the above is over with.

I think that's only partly true. GoT started taking a long time between seasons near the end because each episode was like a full length movie in terms of production and FX. House of Dragon is taking forever too. But it's definitely been more common with Covid and strikes.
I have a feeling they may go past season 3. I mainly say this because LoU 3, the game, is basically not happening, so a season 4 where Mazin & Druckmann have liberties to expand without being rooted in the game I think could be very well done.
I just rewatched season 1 for the first time since it came out. Made me realize why I like it more than TWD and why I got tired of that show. They crammed so much into each episode! I remembered the storyline pretty well, but in my memory some of those subplots lasted way longer than they did. Like Kanas City and Henry, I could have sworn that was 2-3 episodes. If it was TWD, that story would have taken 2 seasons and been really drug out. There was no down time at all in season 1. Kept it moving really well.
Keeping the timeline appropriate! Though I'd think Riot Act would be hanging up here.
I was thinking this same thing! Riot Act was 2002! But I loved the attention to detail and it made me laugh out loud when Ellie was walking up the stairs. Good stuff.

Just watched episodes 1 and 2 last night. Had no idea that was coming!

But I wonder what Seattle will be like.
