    Bump. This past Saturday was my birthday, and I sincerely hope the end of the worst year of my life.

    I had visitors all the way from Indiana, some friends I've known for a very long time. I am so grateful they came. Seeing people to break up the grueling monotony of rehab is a serious reprieve. They last saw me last fall, too, and could see a difference now: How I eat, how I move, how I speak, even my physique. Sometimes these things improve so gradually that they escape your notice, so having that perspective can be very important.

    Next week my cousin arrives. He last saw me last spring, when I was still emaciated and on a feeding tube. This will be an emotional reunion.

    Can’t believe I only stumbled onto this thread now.  My heart goes out to you and the fight you’ve had, it’s so sad.  My mom grew up in Utica, small world!! Anyway I’ll be at night one as well, and I’ll start crying for you when they play footsteps ❤️
