Yeah they’ll do it right but I implore you to go for the city as much as the show. PJ 2010 was cherry on top of a great weekend

Pretty sure a rock and roll band can choose to not play a Shell backed event.
Active choice to instead do so.
Sad times.
Well, reverse time and have people pay $15 for records again. Easy to be sponsorless when the money is flowing in.
Weirdly, people are paying $35 for records now.
It is so strange to me that the going price for new releases in the late '80s/early '90s was $7.99 LP/$11.99 CD, but in 2025 the CD price has only gone up a couple of bucks while the LP price has quadrupled.

There are a lot of places to play and a lot of things to choose to do or not. Pretty sure they could have played the same amount of shows and made the same ampubt of money but not playing infront of fossil fuel companies. BUT WHAT DO I KNOW.
”its not the 90s anymore man. People aint buying records so one of the biggest companies need to play Shell sponsored events ”

Merch for Jazz Fest question. Assuming outside the venue? Only Saturday or possibly Friday as well? Thanks in advance for the info.
in 2016, they did not have a merch booth but the band sold everything online after the festival

Heading to Jazz Fest and taking my 11 year old daughter. Not only will it be her first PJ show, it will be her first concert ever. She loves Won’t Tell and is excited about going to the show!
It’s crazy to think I was about her age when I first started listening to the group. Times like this help you feel grateful for the band and their longevity.

Great choices by the band of what kind of places to play and companies to de facto support
