    same level

    Vitalogy has of great ones:

    Tremor Christ
    Satan's Bed
    Corduroy

    Bad ones:

    Immortality
    Betterman

    Vs great ones:

    Indifference
    Leash
    Animal

    Bad ones:

    Small Town
    RVM
So that is how I learned the lesson that everyone is alone. And your eyes must do some raining if you are ever going to grow. But when crying don't help and you can't compose yourself. It is best to compose a poem, an honest longing or simple song of hope.
    That is why I'm singing
  • I think Eddie was at his top during vitalogy (he comes close to that level again on riot act). The lyrics are just awesome. Maybe I just relate easier to the songs on vitalogy than to the ones on vs. After all most on vs. are about the band dealing with stardom.
  • I love them all but Vs is probably my favourite. The first three are brilliant and I think this album rocks the hardest.

  • what are you people talking about, "Vs is their worst album", i wish it was my worst album, get real , they^re both awesome albums, better than most albums that are in your local record shop, but dont put them up against eachother, put them both on your stereo and crank them up.
    Enjoy

    Dont spoil the jam.

    ED.

vs is so solid throughout yes, but vitalogy just has more soul. i wish immortality had ended the album though.. ;)

    I can't decide...they are both great albums
These cuts are leaving creases. Trace the scars to fit the pieces, to tell the story, you don't need to say a word.
  • Vitalogy seems to be pretty popular here.

I love both, but I have to choose Vs. Blood, Rearviewmirror, Leash and Indifference - goosebumps every time...

  • I'm not much one to say "X better than X1"

Vs. has seen more CD play for me, but I believe that is mostly because of the grittier stuff.

Still, I'm surprised someone said Vs. is PJ's worst album - I would say the worst album is Merkinball - it only has two songs! (just kidding - those two songs are AWESOME!)

And the person who said Elderly Woman and RVM are no good? Woah, that's neat, I've never heard that before - I'd say "Hey Foxymopheadmamathat'sme" is my least favourite track ;D

    vitalogy for sure!
  • I think Vitalogy would be my favorite hands down... except I think Pry, To and Bugs break up the flow of the album too much. Take those two out and I think it has more soul than Vs.

Vs. is still great, but IMHO it has a little less backbone than Vitalogy.

I'll have to agree with you on that.... to bad for those 'filler' tracks (pry, to... aye davanita, stupid mop), really breaks up the flow

    vitalogy!!!!!!
    I said Yeaaaaaaah!
  • Last Exit--My favorite opening song on a PJ album.
Spin The Black Circle--Viva la Vinyl...'nuff said.
    Not For You--speaks for itself.
Tremor Christ--makes me wanna go surfing...too bad I live in the Midwest.
    Nothingman--oh. my. god.
Whipping--I got to hear it live for the first time last year(6/26/03)...I will NEVER EVER forget it...EVER.
    pry,to--p.r.i.v.a.c.y.
Corduroy--some may think it's a bit overplayed/burnt out, but I still keep it close to my heart...such a personal song, I can never get enough of it.
Bugs--a song most don't like, but I enjoy the little 'weirdos' on the records.
Satan's Bed--another one of those 'lost treasures'...should've been on Lost Dogs it's so rare to hear these days. Shame too.
Better Man--I like it so much better live w/ a tag, but still a good one IMO.
    aye davanita--'the song without words'
Immortality--the solo says it all... :D
hey foxymophandlemama, that's me--I have to say, I don't know what to say.

Don't get me wrong...'vs.'/'five against one' is an almost equally awesome record in my book, but 'Vitalogy' will always be my favorite album by anyone, forever...and ever. It just holds so much meaning to me, I would be selfish if I took the space up on this board to explain it. But then again, you are all PJ fans...you all understand I'm sure of it.

  • Personally I prefer Vitalogy, I do love VS for the likes of Go Animal RVM and Indifference, but I think Vitalogy has more depth. both great albums though, any new band around nowadays couldn't make an album close to one of these in greatness.
