That was a lot of fun to watch tonight....although I had no idea it started so early.

Yeah I don't like the announcer much at all, to be  honest.

    Tom Kim was a beast.

Shane Lowry with the ace on 7 at Pebble yesterday.  He has hole in 1s at 17 at Sawgrass, 16 at Augusta and now 7 at Pebble.  3 of the most famous par 3s in the world.  That's wild.

I got a kick out of Scottie’s reaction when he was shocked a ball he hit spun back ten feet after it landed five feet short of the cup.

I can’t imagine the game he is playing.  I am never surprised by any outcome of my shots because I don’t have expectations it will do what I want it to do.  Would be fun to be able to play the game that the pros do where they fully expect to put the ball in a yard sized landing zone.

I think Tom Kim proved you can be athletic and play golf, but don’t have to be.  If you take 40+ seconds to hit your ball after you have started your practice swings, then you are not an athlete.

From NY, wondering if anyone has golfed in any parts of Maryland. Weather in April is very hit/miss here and I have a break coming up in mid-April.
I'm seeing avg temps in the 60's down there for that time of year. Wouldnt mind a drive if it guarantees some rounds. Not looking to break the bank at crazy courses, but also, would love my 11 year old to join me for a late afternoon tee time.
if anyone has any info or reccomendations, please share!

You can spin an iron though, right?  If you pinch the ball and take a full swing, the ball should naturally spin.  What I don't know how to do is "take the spin off" like they describe.  The only way I can do that is club up and knock it down.  But if I swing full, it's spinning.

I love Bulle Rock.  Haven't played a lot of MD golf, but that's where I go when there.  It's near Aberdeen.

I used to be pretty good at my local par 3 course.

When me and a friend tried to graduate to a full course, we were thrown off by the course martial (it was a public course).

I remember being yelled at by the group behind us..."pick up the ball after 7 strokes!"

And thus ended my golfing career!

New season of Full Swing has been pretty good.  The Gary Woodland episode is really good.  Incredible that he's out there playing

Tiger... retire.  You've got plenty of money.  You don't need to make any more.  The world doesn't need Sun Day Red.  Keep your legacy intact.  We don't want to feel sorry for you.  Jordan came back but could still put up 30 or 40 points if he had to.  We didn't have to watch his rapid decline.  We don't need to hear more about your surgeries.

Why, though? I mean he kinda already is, but if he wants to play the Masters every year and maybe a couple other tournaments...what's the big deal? I'm happy to see him out there whenever he can do it.

Latest injury is a bummer but nobody, at this point, is expecting anything of him anyway. This ain't 5 years ago.

It's getting kinda sad at this point.  How much more can this guys body take???  Just wait until you're 50 and go dominate the senior tour in a cart

I don’t get any enjoyment watching Tiger play mediocre golf at best.  All his stats have gone to shit unless you cut them off at 2008.

Who knew it was all about bootlegger10’s enjoyment of watching tiger? Kidding, of course

Agree with Juggs, if he wants to ceremoniously play the masters until he drops dead he’s earned the right and good for him

Started practicing two weeks ago for the start of the season. I’m a 10hcp and played last Sunday. Had the yips and shot a 98 🤦🏽‍♂️
Hadn’t picked up a club again until today. Got to the range, and everything clicked. Went out and shot an 80, unbelievable 😆

I get it.  We don’t see it in other sports.  So golf can be unique then here.  You can play tennis into your 90’s, but it stands out more in tennis as a youngster embarrasses a past his prime player 95% of the time.  In golf, you just sit at the bottom of the leaderboard and no one cares.

Or you make a run at the cut line on a Friday and have a little fun on the weekend perhaps.

There are no expectations of Tiger anymore. Any chance to see him play is fine by me. I thoroughly enjoyed that PNC Classic a few months back and that was a glorified exhibition.

Nice work.  Can't complain about that.

I played for the first time since November, as I was recovering from left knee surgery.  Still not fully healed and it shows on drives as I'm not confident enough to really shift to the left leg.  Shot a 45 on the front, which is the worst in probably two years.  Grinded out a 39 on the back, with never really being able to get off the tee.  But my short game was on and it saved me at least four strokes.

Pretty damn good to have the short game still sharp after a long layoff.

Anyone watching this Content Creator Classic thing? I'm gonna watch a little later. That guy Trent from Barstool has actually made himself into a halfway decent golfer

Fat Perez plays at my club all of the time.  Nice enough guy.  He was also at a Dark Star Orchestra show next to me as well recently, wearing the same shit he does on a course.

    Nice. Seems cool.

Trent shot a 61...in 8 holes lol. So much for that.

An 11 on 17 but the roar from the crowd was deafening when he finally got it on. Grant Horvath is a douche.

I'm not a fan of island greens for the amateurs.  Pros, yes.  But someone like Trent, the drop area shot might be even harder than the tee shot.  Round killers because of a gimmick.  Someone like Trent, if they miss the green, it pretty much brings in triple bogey at best and that is too big of a penalty in my opinion.

If you can't tell I'm talking about my own encounters with island greens.  Just doesn't make sense to play normal golf for 16 holes and then add in a miniature golf type gimmick hole.  Great tv.  Makes the pros sweat which is good.

Have a couple courses with island greens near me. They're fun. I look forward to those holes.

One of them claims to have the first island green in the US: The Moat Hole

I don't have an opinion on island greens as a general statement.  It's extremely rare that I run into one, certainly not around me.  Regarding Sawgrass, I think it's great there.  Rounds are like $400 and if you play it, that should be the highlight of your round.  You should just know that if you hit two in the water, drop it on the green and take your double/triple as appropriate.
