I have fomo for the big shows. Saturday night in Philly last year. Small venue in Florida and Friday night in Pittsburgh this year.

By “the game” I mean that they know their fans are traveling for shows. Would Pittsburgh be this tough if they also played Detroit, Cleveland, Buffalo and/or Toronto? PJ still gets paid but they may want to do right by the promoter unfortunately.
The idea of "big shows" is largely self-imposed. I'd wager that Monday night in Vancouver last year was every bit as good as Saturday night in Philly. Two random shows in Glendale (Phoenix) that I attended were both better than most of the eight MSG shows I've attended.
I gather speed from you fucking with me.

    Bingo Ken!
25 of my 62 shows have come post-covid because of that thought
More the reason for them to keep playing the places that have been neglected.
    Right on RatherStarved.

I'm right there with you HHV as I've seen 28 since post-covid.

I try my best to see as many as I can because I don't know who's gonna last longer: ME or PJ.
    I think I am something like 48/64 post 2020.

I agree with you on this. The best shows are the ones off the beaten path on random nights. You just never know.

I hope so too but I also hope some of their fanbase stays away. Have you seen some of the Facebook comments on the various pearl jam groups? Whenever someone posts support for Canada or Ukraine it gets nasty in the comments. I didn’t realize that the band had that many hard core republicans in the fanbase.

All shows actually are *created* equal, but they don't all end up playing out that way. But my point is that some shows that people anticipate  ahead of time to be epic based on location or night of the week turn out to be merely "ordinary," and a lot of shows in random places on odd nights turn out to be next-level.

I gather speed from you fucking with me.

For sure, but there are some highly anticipated shows that do live up to every expectation and even surpass the hype.

When are we usually allowed to load tickets to our wallet? I see the option to do it now, but I didn't think it was something we could do until the week of the show.

You can wallet them now.  A couple of years ago you had to wait until the end but that was when the wallets weren’t tied to the TM account.

I think the 11th province should be New England as a whole. And to celebrate it we should get #PJ35 in New England.

Anticipation is one thing.  We’re all aware people anticipate some shows more than others.  But your statement about Vancouver and Philly 1 wasn’t about anticipation.  You said that Vancouver was “every bit as good” as Philly 1.  Don’t move the goalposts.  Just take the L.
Bootleg-wise Vancouver night 2 sounds better than Philly night 1 and closed with Setting Sun. 😶‍🌫️
setting sun is a great song but philly night 1 closed with indifference.
I'll ride the wave where it takes me......

I hope this idiotic Trump trade war spurs the boys to do a Canadian leg. Ill be there to support Canada if they do.
Canadian leg with a detour to Vermont. Canada’s upcoming 11th province.
Can we bring Montana along for the ride and make it an even number 12?

The future sovereign states of New England welcome all collaboration with our close allies to the north.

    Montana could become southern Alberta!

I was at both Vancouver and both Philly shows.

The Philly show on Saturday was next level.
Agree.  That satuday show was one of the best i've ever seen.  Not all shows are created equal.
All shows actually are *created* equal, but they don't all end up playing out that way. But my point is that some shows that people anticipate  ahead of time to be epic based on location or night of the week turn out to be merely "ordinary," and a lot of shows in random places on odd nights turn out to be next-level.

I'm not moving any goalposts. That's my opinion of the relative quality of the shows. Your mileage may vary.
I gather speed from you fucking with me.

Which is not necessarily what some of us most wanted to see in 2024. To each their own.

The best PJ show is the one you're currently in the crowd for -- watching as it unfolds in front of you.

I was telling someone in the merch line last year that the guys could come out and play my 25 least favorite songs and I'd still have a fucking blast. They're consummate professionals and while we can argue about setlist and crowd and all that, they give everything every night -- seem to take pride in making sure the crowd gets something to remember.
