Hi everyone!
I'm kinda new here, so I apologize if this has been asked before!!...
Do you have a favorite part in a song??!?, you know? a specific part of the song that you really like? not because of the lyrics, but maybe because of Eddie's voice in that particular line or a "guitar part"...
'cause I have a few...
*the "whoa!" in I am mine, after he says "We're safe tonight"
*the part in Immortality, right after "He saw the trapdoor in the sun...", I just love the guitar there... and it took me a while not to say immortality in that part. hehe
*in Do The Evolution I love the "Woooo" at the beginning
well, I can't wait to hear yours...

The guitar solo in "I Got ID" is so fucking powerful and haunting. Everytime I listen to it, it evokes a feeling of something big and ominous, like an ancient battle or something.
That part has always stuck with me.
Cool thread!0 -

Given to fly when it's that swoooooosh feeling, like a runner's high. It's great!
A wave came crashing like a fist to the jaw
Delivered him wings, 'Hey, look at me now'

He's.. flying.....whole

also the first lines of release

Feel the chill

Oh there are way too many to list because I have a favorite part of every PJ song. But the ones that come to mind off the top of my head are....
In Release, the "I'll ride the wave where it takes me" part with the guitar part that is played during that. It builds up such feeling. I love it.
The part in Do The Evolution: "I'm a theif, I'm a liar, there's my church, I sing in the choir" followed by the "hallelujah" with the harmonizing and music.
As someone already said, the guitar solo in "I got ID"
In My Tree: "up here so high I start to shake, up here so high the sky I scrape" Just that moment, the song changes, the words are great, the music feels so powerful!
Those are some of the ones that come to me off the top of my head."I'll ride the wave where it takes me..." -'Release' PJ0 -
I love the part of "Leash" where Ed sings "I'm lost, I'm no guide, but I'm by your side". They way he sings "guide"...just fantastic. It's not a crime to free your mind.0

Stone's partIF YOU WANT A PLATE OF MY BEEF SWELLINGTON, YOU'RE GOING TO HAVE TO PAY THE COVERCHARGE.0
-
That part in Pilate... "Stunned by my own reflection..... "
I Got Shit... "So I'll just lie alone and wait for the dream..."
so many though.. I could go on and on.Common sense is not so common.0 -
"He's.. flying whole… high.. wide, oh"
the drum solo in evenflow
and the harmonica in driftin0 -
I agree with all the Given To Fly comments and the one person who mentioned the line from Leash, some of Eddie's best lyrics in my opinion
Not sure what my favourite is, but one of the best (especially live) is in both Hail Hail and Sad
"He will always love you, and it's sad... SHYAH!!!!!"
"...I refer to those in love.... SHYAH!!!"
no idea how to spell, but I'm sure you all know what I mean
I catch myself listening to my ipod about to belt that part out. Would be pretty embarrassing while studying.0 -

Great question btw."I'd rather be with an animal." "Those that can be trusted can change their mind." "The in between is mine." "If I don't lose control, explore and not explode, a preternatural other plane with the power to maintain." "Yeh this is living." "Life is what you make it."0 -

I love that part in Pilate as well! I listen to the song just for that.
A few other are, "Why Go" "She's been diagnosed by some stupid F*** and mommy agrees, Yea!"
Pretty much all the little Ed add on's in "Breath" "All these reaching hands out...grabbin' things. (grabbin Me.)" I just love it. Makes the song flow so well."Wave to all my friends....yeah!"0 -
The guitar just before and the "Is something wrong? she said" part of Alive.
The first chorus of Better Man, is so calm and sweet, but so sad....beautiful"Don't ever let the truth get it the way of telling a good story"0 -
Good thread... it's like going through all the best parts of the songs in rapid-fire.
The part about midway through NAIS, beginning at the part where Ed sings "saving up for sunny day..." The song gets so heavy and powerful at that part- I just wish it kept up for the rest of the song.
Or how about Breath... "there's... much... more than this!" Awesome.
In Release: "I'll wait up in the dark for you to speak to me..." It just sounds so tortured.
Near the end of Inside Job, when either Mike or Stone bust out the simple guitar solo... I think it's before the "life comes from within..." part.
I could go on forever probably. I'll keep it at that.
(oh, and the beginning and ending of Fatal is just amazing.)It's a town full of losers and I'm pulling out of here to win0 -
The ending of RVM when the band kicks into high gear and they are jamming away or the very beginning of SOLAT or in Blood when Ed holds the Its....my.....BBBBBBLLLLLLLLLLLLLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOODDDDDDDDDDDDD!!!!!!And I'm not living this life without you, I'm selfish and clear
And you're not leaving here without me, I don't wanna be without
My best... friend. Wake up, to see you could have it all0 -
very cool thread.
i have so many favorite parts to choose from but one that stands out right now is on the benaroya show when the crowd sings the last verse of black. i really dig that!0 -
I love the guitar riff in the middle of "Do the Evolution".......brilliant.one foot in the door
the other foot in the gutter
sweet smell that they adore
I think I'd rather smother
-The Replacements-0 -
The opening chords and first lyrics of Corduroy!! Obviously!!
The waiting drove me mad, you're finally here and I'm a mess
Take your interest back, can't let you roam inside my head.NOPE!!!
*~You're IT Bert!~*
Hold on to the thread

At the end of live Jeremy, uh huh, uh huh, WHOAAAA!
It gives me chills every time I hear it.
The most powerful song that I have ever heard live. The place erupted and Eddie fed right off the crowd's energy. It was pure bliss.Oh he fills it up with the love of a girl...0
