the opening solo of yellow ledbetter... you know it's the end, you've been waiting for it all night, you're hammered after 2 hrs show kicking and screaming... and then those notes from mike's fender... sweet!

Intro to "Garden" the old version. Then the heavy progression at "garden of stoooooone.."

When I first heard VS I loved the "Rats" outo esp. Dave's funky drums.

    Ed singing Releeeease meeeeeee live

"Breathe"- there's much more than this!

The climax of "Inide Job" before the solo

Those are a few off the top of my head.

I love when Matt kicks in on Inside Job.

    HOW I CHOOSE TO FEEL
    Is HOW I AM

it sounds even better in the studio but it's great live.

The "I couldn't breathe, holdin' me down," always brings me the anticipation on the rest of the song...it kinda pulls me to hear the rest of the song. Like hearing in your head "here it comes, here it comes, here it comes."
Speaking of which, in Breathe: "Come. Here it comes. There it goes. When it comes. Where it goes. Where it comes. Can't see through the faith," especially the faith part.
And "Whoooooooo's got the brain of JFK," also the chorus
There are honestly too many to list. Hail hail is an adrenalin rush to me, given to fly as well.

The "Hey na na na na hey that's something" from 'State of Love and Trust'

The beginning of "Yellow Ledbetter" is definitely one of the best things PJ has ever done. I liked it so much I even got it as my cell phone ringtone.

The part of "Sad" where Eddie sings, "Holding is last breath, believing, he'll make his way..."

    All of "Parachutes."

Eddie's voice throughout all of "Come Back." He just sounds so lonely and heartbroken.
How dark a woe! yet how sublime a hope!
How silently serene a sea of pride!
How daring an ambition! yet how deep--
How fathomless a capacity for love!
  • My fav lines in a song.. well in Indifference it's "Iwill make my way through one more day in hell" , and " I will stare the sun down until my eyes go blind,, I won't change directiona and I won't change MY mind".

In Jeremy it's "seemed a Harmless little Fuck"
In Dirty Frank.. It's " Where's Mike Mc Cready?!?! My god he's been ate!!" ( just cuase that is soooooooo funny!!) no offense mike..
In Wash it's "bring it back.. bring it back to the pure form.. to clean form.. wash my love"

In You Are it's "I am the shoreline.. but you're the sea..the sea"
In Alive.. it's "And if so.. who answers who answers??"
and In Do The Evolution it's .. "I am ahead, I am advanced I am the first mammal to wear pants yeah.."
And seeings how I've listened to PJ since Ten Like the rest of ya or at least most of ya.. I will stop here cause i could go on for ever, these lines just came to mind first.. I could quote PJ alllllllllllllllllllllllll day!!!`so We'll leave it at these quotes for now.. Oh and I went toTaco Bell today and my change was
$10.10 so my day is officially gonna kick ass!!!
  • My favorite Animal and Given to Fly parts have been mentioned so here's a couple more:
Breath: "Come. Here it comes. There it goes. When it comes.
Where it goes. Where it comes.
Can't see through the faith! Woah.
Ooh. Come. Here it comes. There it goes.
Grasp what you can." The way these lines work with the riff are amazing.

The middle part of Brain of J when it slows down and then: "And by name
    The name they gave me
    The name I'm letting go.....

Elderly Woman: "I just want to scream....Hello!" Best in concert...
Change don't come at once, it's a wave, building before it breaks.

" are you woman enough to be my man, bandaged hand in hand"

    just love it :)

or in sometimes when ed's voice is stressed:

    "seek my part... devote myself!

theres loads of songs (practically everything) that have something special about them... :) Can't wait to see some of these songs live!
  • there are special parts for me in a lot of songs but i can't mention them all...but for example:

in life wasted eddies laugh after "why let the sad song play?"

    the beginning of rvm

the "if i don't lose control..." part in severed hand

"I'll wait up in the dark for you to speak to me...I'll open up...release me" live

every single part of light years;)

"voices in my head...oooh voices" in footsteps

and the way eddie sings "only love can bring the RAIN that falls like TEARS from on high" and the chorus of love reign o'er me...that's what i call PASSION
"now i've got room to spread my wings and my messages of love...yeah love was my drug but that's not what i died of"

    "I don't wanna think, I wanna feel"

"Go then, there are other worlds than these!" - Jake Chambers

    09/23/2006 Berlin
    06/21/2007 Düsseldorf
  • Mike's part at the very end of I am Mine

the opening chord (I think its Ed's part) in Comeback

in Black "I'm spinning, oh I'm spinning. How quick the sun can drop away"
The North is to South what the clock is to time
There's east and there's west and there's everywhere life
I know I was born and I know that I'll die
    The in between is mine
    I am mine

In Brainf of J when the music gets quiet then Mccready tears it up wit a huge wammy distortion guitar riff
"Makes much more sense to live in the present tense." Ed Ved

"No one cares about climbing stairs, Nothing at the top no more." Chris Cornell

Agree with everyone so far, but the part that never fails to give me the shivers is the big chord before the first chorus in Sleight Of Hand and then the chorus itself.

He Was Okay, But Wondering, About Wandering
    Was It Age, By Consequence
Or Was He Moved By Sleight Of Hand?

I've always loved the first line of corduroy. the whole intro is just a steady build up and then it just explodes into:

"the waiting drove me mad, you'r finally here and i'm a mess".

it makes me smile every time!!

If just one wish could bring her baaaaaaack, it’s saaad.

I I’ll be here… come back come back

So many lines in release me.

Break the sky and tell me what it’s for, I’ll travel there on my own.

    Clearer… cleareeeerrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr… WAS you… in my… REARVIEWWWWWWWWWW MIRRRRRRRRRRRROOOOOOOOOOOOOORRRRRRRR

    What was everything?

the opening chords of world wide suicide.

marker in the sand where it goes from the last chorus into that catchy little riff... I always wanna dance to it. And... calling out... calling out... calling out... calliiiiiiiiiiiiiiinnnggg... ah ah ah yeeehhhh ah ah yehhhh.

This may appear to be my favourite LINES, but no, I’d have other ones for that… these are the moments I kinda anticipate in those songs.
    The Astoria??? Orgazmic!
    Verona??? it's all surmountable
Dublin 23.08.06 "The beauty of Ireland, right there!"
    Wembley? We all believe!
Copenhagen?? your light made us stars
    Chicago 07? And love
    What a different life

Today, I'm obsessed with "three crooked hearts, swirls all around". :)
Got a gift in some really pretty wrapping paper and that's exactly what popped into my head the minute I saw it. :)
And now of course I've had to come home and listen to it, and I'm all caught up in my favorite bit, "Miss you already, miss you always."

LOVE the harmonica, the crunchy rumble of the guitar, love the lyrics.

    I just love SMILE. :)
    NOPE!!!

Such a baisc song (lyric wise), but it works so well. Same with Wishlist too.

I remember seeing something about Pink Floyd and Dark Side of the Moon. They commented on the line "breathe/breathe in the air/don't be afraid to care" being so basic, but having such a great affect.

    Great thread...............

    My favorites include:

Live- the scream leading into breakerfall.

No Code- the softness at the end of sometimes, leading straight into the madness that is hail hail. Also, i love how habit just punches you in the face from the get go.

Evacuation- the shift in sound before the first chorus........when ed sings "its like your waiting for a diamond shore....."
