Two weeks ago my 86 year old dad came down with a terrible cold my niece took him to urgent care he was prescribed an antibiotic & cough medicine! He proceeded to start drinking the cough medicine from the bottle so he was all out of sorts, vomiting dizzy and not good at all, so now my brother takes him to the emergency room because he’s complaining of pain in stomach and middle of his chest. Diagnosed with acid reflux and he actually burned his esophagus on top of having a terrible cough, so because he was alone he was not taking the correct dosage of cough medicine and Motrin! So me and my wife who’s a nurse decided when he gets discharged he’s coming home with me so he’s been here since last Saturday and he’s way better we manage all his medication and been monitoring he’s sugar levels he’s a type 1 diabetic! So this has my total attention having him here which is good to put things in perspective!
Good son, good job. Kudos! And best wishes for you dad!jesus greets me looks just like me ....0 -

I still read the news to some extent because I don't want to be ignorant about what is happening in the world, but I find that TV news/video has a much stronger effect on mental health and emotions than print news, which is why I now avoid it altogether, especially when it comes to Trump doing or saying anything. I can't tolerate his face or voice, so I avoid it completely so that I have less irritation in my life. Same goes for the talking heads on the TV who defend Trump or spread his propaganda. I can't watch that, or listen to people try to debate with them without feeling too angry and frustrated. Same goes for pretty much all political coverage on the TV actually, in Canada too, including local politics. It's just too annoying to view anymore.

Take @gimmesometruth27 for example. They obsessed over Donald Trump just like josevoution, halifax Max, brianlux, and a few others on here. But since election day has passed, gimesometruth27 has quietly retreated, possibly never to be seen again. They literally took their ball, and went home. Some of you should take notes.0

Naturally, we all want to DO something, but most of us haven't figured out exactly what that looks like yet, so in the meantime, most of us are more focused on coping. So let's talk about the things you do to keep or get yourself centered.Back in the early 1980's, I worked at a college bookstore with a young man named Scott who had a very effective method for blowing off steam. Just outside the store, there was a mailbox (remember mailboxes?). When things really got to Scott, he would go out and open the mailbox shoot, stick his head inside, and holler at the top of his lungs. It worked like a charm. He came back to work with a smile on his face. So as his empathetic boss (rush was a bitch!), I encouraged this behavior. What Scott did looked something like this very crude drawing I included in one of my books (it was drawn spontaneously at that time, so I just kept it and never polished it up).I highly recommend this therapy but I know it's no longer available to most of us (personally, I medicate with music). So what things do you do to ease the tension of crazy tough times?
edit this post of yours ss well.
