It could be so much worse, you have no idea.
EDIT: PJ chose not to tour much in the years 2017-2019. Nobodys fault but their own0 -
Everything is going to be ok.

If you can't win an election with everything going for you including: (women's rights, a black female candidate, the support of almost every major media outlet, 3 times the amount of campaign funds, support of Hollywood and the biggest stars in the music industry plus an opposition candidate who is accused of being Hitler), then there must be another issue.
That problem was installing a DEI hire empty pantsuit as their candidate and triing to sneak her across the finish line without offering any policies, calling her opponent a fascist and his supporters garbage. Based on the resounding Republican victory up and down the ticket its obvious America wasn't buying the bullshit the Democrats were selling.
So call us all the names that you want because that's what you do best.
And please stop with the fake outrage about Biden supposedly calling Trump's supporters "garbage." Trump constantly denigrates entire swaths of America, including whole cities and states. He called fallen veterans "suckers" and "losers." He called the country the world's garbage can. His entire campaign is based on the premise that America is not great. Stack up all the disparaging things he's said about various groups and places and it's hard to come any conclusion other than that Donald Trump hates America.I gather speed from you fucking with me.0 -

There is no defending a vote for trump when you are standing shoulder to shoulder with fascists, racists, homophobes and every other type of discriminatory group under the sun. Not looking forward to these next four years.0 -

Anyway, my point stands about your flippant, facile "living you're [sic] life" comment. The wounds today are only psychic. The real harm comes later, when power actually changes hands.I gather speed from you fucking with me.0 -

I wonder how this post will age in say, a year from now or in 2026 or 2027? We have people commenting on posts from 2006 on this board and I have a feeling you will see "Time to take out the trash" pop up when things start to go bad. Especially, if there becomes a nationwide abortion ban, or we pull out of NATO, or you hear horror stories of mass deportations. If these things do come true under Trumps watch... it's going to get ugly. I hope that is not the case for all Americans and fans of this band in the next four years.Do you know what it's like to fall in the mud and get kicked... in the head... with an iron boot? Of course you don't, no one does. It never happens. Sorry, Ted, that's a dumb question... skip that.0

How do you square the lyrics with your own personal beliefs? Or the ethos of the band as a whole, which is frequently stated outright at shows and in every other available outlet. I'd never go to a Lee Greenwood or Toby Keith or Kid Rock show because their material and their beliefs would irritate me beyond any pleasure the music might bring. This honestly confuses me, I just couldn't ever stand giving my money to someone who fundamentally disagreed with everything I believe where those tenets are intrinsic to the music and the band. Do you just not pay attention to the lyrics? Take a piss whenever Eddie talks? How do you get through a show?
I personally appreciate a good political song but prefer individual stories, and I’m happy to follow an artist on their journey and see where they take me.
I’ll never tell any artist to “shut up and play.”
Fair, thanks for the response!0 -

Having said all that, is it troubling that somewhere between 49 and 51 percent of voters were willing to vote for a person like Trump? Yes, it is. The unwillingness of people to hold people accountable for bad behavior because they are on your "team" is one of the more repugnant features of modern American life, and the lack of accountability will only breed more bad behavior. This goes a lot deeper than politics and, in some ways, the phenomenon in the larger culture paved the way for it to reach the level it has in politics. Think of sports fans who cheer for a guy on their team who is accused of a violent crime or the use of PEDs but who vilify a guy on a rival team who is accused of the same types of things. Remember, a lot of Trump's appeal for a good chunk of his voters is less about his positive qualities and more about the fact that he hates the right people and makes the people who support the other "team" angry.I gather speed from you fucking with me.0 -

This video popped up in my feed, and may be helpful to some.
I've never heard of Robert Reich, but will pay attention to his commentary in the months to come.
The comments are interesting.
My favorites:- "They're eating the cats, they're eating the dogs" proved a more effective message than "Let me help you buy your first house."
- "The forest was shrinking, but the trees kept voting for the axe; for the axe was clever and convinced the trees that because his handle was made of wood, he was one of them."
