lol...so why didn't they cheat this time? Why give up the oval? Why give up the senate?

Comments like this are laughable. I needed that.
We swamped the vote.  To big to rig.
Swamped the vote? At the current count he didn’t reach what he had in 2020.
Because he probably didn't reach that vote count in 2020. Look at the vote totals for the two major party candidates in the last three elections....

    2016:
    Clinton: 66M
    Trump: 63M
    Total: 129M

    2020:
    Biden: 81M
    Trump: 74M
    Total: 155M

    2024 (as of now)
    Harris: 66M
    Trump: 71M
    Total: 137M

So the total goes up 26M in 2020, and then goes down 18M in 2024? Where did these voters come from in 2020, and where did they go in 2024? I contend that both Biden and Trump's 2020 vote counts are way off and it's due to all the mail-in ballots from the pandemic. I can see a few million people voting for the first and only time due to mass mail-in voting, but not 26 million.

Trump had no evidence that he was cheated like he claimed, but the idea that the 2020 election was "safe and secure" is ludicrous. I think there were nefarious actors on both sides counting mail-in ballots multiple times.  How else did Biden get so many more votes than Clinton and Harris? And how did Trump, who was at his weakest point electorally in 2020, get more votes then than in the two elections he won?
So how did trump get 71M (and counting) this go round? By your logic that figure is also inflated by 8M.

I can’t explain it, but the absence of an explanation doesn’t give credence to nefariousness.
I don't think the 2020 election was stolen, but playing devil's advocate and answering the question.
Based on those numbers, 71M doesn't seem far off. You can expect to gain a few million voters each election cycle, There are only 4 million more total votes between 2016 and now, so within reason of what you'd expect to see.

If someone were to rig the election, they wouldn't add 26 million votes. You just need 10 or 20,000 in a few select key states. Most elections are won by 2 or 3 swing states. They wouldn't be flooding it with 26 million votes. They'd be pushing 10,000 votes and and 10,000 there in states with close elections.
You might even be able to "find" 11,000 in the right place.

Do you believe in climate change?
Climate change is a naturally occurring phenomenon over the existence of earth it has happened thousands of times. It is not new or special.

If you believe climate change is man made do you understand the only solution is to reduce the population by about 3 billion? That's not the winning platform you think it is.

It's not man made. But it is man accelerated.

Holy fuck read a book. Climate change has never accelerated at this rate, coinciding with the industrial revolution. 🤦‍♂️

Climate change has always existed. Its just happening at a rate of 100 times (probably higher) faster than without humans.

I think the advent of ballot-harvesting was huge. People that would not normally leave home to vote were able to just provide their ballots to someone who drove them over. Looks like there were also plenty of Trump voters there. Now that we're "post-covid" people generally have to go and vote.  They may have even been scarred off by the big numbers (i.e., big lines this time) from last time.

I'd say Trump was at his most polarizing at that time and I that we somehow lost interest and forgot about it.

I'll throw in Biden's connection to Obama and that polls have shown that nearly 40% of people do not think women should be president.
Every time I bring up sexism it gets laughed at here by MAGAs. Nope, doesn't happen and women are treated equal and receive equal pay, or maybe they should just stay home and tend to the kids while Daddy works for Elon. Clearly DEI and CRT are just trying to divide the country and put the white man down.
    It's a hopeless situation...

They should have pushed him aside sooner so they could have a legit selection process. I think not winning the nomination the formal way hurt her.
He was not up for 4 more years. Many people saw it coming. You couldn't deny it after that debate, so they had no choice. Those who pushed him out were probably hoping he could last until yesterday, then push him out within the first year. Thats just my own opinion, I don't have anything to back that up.

It was a drop in voter turnout. Or maybe there was 26 million fraudulent votes that no one has caught onto.

No one has laughed at you. I've responded twice now to your claims of sexism (without a response from you). Not by laughing or insulting you. But by stating, as I will again....

"Hillary Clinton all but won in 2016, so it's not like people won't vote for a woman. Harris was unpopular as a candidate in 2020 (damn sexist democrats), unpopular as VP (very low approval rating), and she didn't earn this nomination. That's a terrible candidate whether it's a male or female."

No, what I'm saying is that what we are experiencing is an extreme form of climate change that has been created and exacerbated by burning fossil fuels, dumping excessive amounts of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere, and cutting down forest which in return reduces the ability of the planet to absorb that excess carbon.  It's all been clearly explained by knowledgeable, bright people who have studied and measured these things for decades.
Good God man, excuse my surprise, but are you really not aware of these realities?

lol...so why didn't they cheat this time?

I started a response, but didn't want to waste the time putting it together. It's not worth it based on your responses on here. Even the Mahomes comment (I think that was you). You and I see it differently. You've responded with a whataboutism on Hillary's failed election. A woman got less votes in both of those elections and a reason they lost those votes for many was solely because they are a woman. In a close election, that's the difference.

There are inherent perceptions and opinions that I hear and see slip out in my every day life when interacting with male coworkers, friends or family that expose the underlying theme that women just aren't fit to lead or are too emotional, or aren'tstrong enough, or are too bitchy and on and on. Even recent references about controlling their spouses decisions or going "crazy" for no reason. Maybe you're not that way, but your dismissiveness to that being a widespread hurdle for a woman seeking the presidency seems a bit ignorant. It's not like Trump isn't unpopular as well, since you mentioned she was unpopular. He just doesn't have the added hurdles placed on a woman. He gets the benefit of the doubt.

I keep seeing Trump supporters on her claim the dems are the name callers and spewers of hate, but man, I'm pretty sure Trump patented political hatred the last 8 years. I'm not ashamed to admit that when he dies from the clear impending health issues being hidden from the public, it will be a good day for the world. Someday, maybe more people will realize he only brought chaos. There's a reason the Neo Nazi's and white supremacists support him.
    It's a hopeless situation...

Harris did a terrible job of really addressing any of those, but given the economy, I don't think the party had a chance. As Project 2025 moves into implementation with the backing of the most party-loyal federal court system in US history, some people may regret their vote. By then it will be too late. Even an optimistic Dem/lib has to recognize that the next people to experience a balanced court system have not even been born yet.

This necessary downturn Elon has mentioned will probably come from a very swift firing of a million or so federal employees. Further, I'm not a federal employee but am one of several hundred thousand likely to end up unemployed in 2025 or 2026.

We're not really going to have a functioning federal government, which is part of the appeal. Trump is no longer surrounded by so many normies/establishment (depending on your POV). It's all people that want to make a big splash against wokeness, government spending, secularism, and feminism. They don't actually care about running an efficient government. They care about getting rich and, to an extent, destroying the government. I guess their contempt for federal employees will be accepted since they're lazy government workers. But Elon's one-size-fits-all belief in slashing staff is going to cause a lot of problems for the way the federal government operates along with a big spike in unemployment. He's about to become the most powerful non-governmental figure in US history.
I work in state government. A large percentage of our work is funded by the federal government. I’m fully expecting to not have a job a year from now. My wife works for a public health research consulting firm. Their primary clients are the CDC and Dept of Health. Her firm will likely shutter as well.

If they go through with their slashing of government workforce and turn off funding, there will be a massive economic hit to the country. Not to mention the disruption in government service people have come to expect.

do you believe in climate change?
    Are you an American Citizen?
Funny, with climate not being restrained to national borders.

The correct term is anthropocentric global warming.  Which means it's caused by humans, which includes women.
Yes, I don't think anyone is saying women don't contribute.
But are you saying it didn't exist before humans?
Climate change has always existed. Its just happening at a rate of 100 times (probably higher) faster than without humans.

    I am.
i responded to the first comment that climate change isn’t man made because it’s been around long before man. I said it’s true that’s it’s been around before man, but man has drastically accelerated the process. So calling it’s been around a long time isn’t a defense against climate change.

I think we’re saying the same thing.

No, whatever Mahomes comment you're talking about wasn't me. But yes, we do see if differently. While I do think sexism exists, I don't think it's why Clinton or Harris lost. Clinton lost by underestimating the Trump sideshow. And Harris lost because of the reasons I've already listed. But if women have it so tough, here's an idea, don't just install one as a candidate for president without a vote. Because as was the case in 2020, the democratic electorate would not have chosen Harris.

My wife pointed out that a lot of people voted for Trump simply because they want their grocery store bill to be lower.  Their short-sighted thinking illustrates the stupidity that is rampant among MAGAs.  They actually think all this is going to make their lives better.  They are in for the wake-up call of their lives and it will be too late.  This country is fucked.
