This is the nice story I'd share in the teaching lunchroom when I had to come up with something normal about family life....

My mom would round up five of us kids at the end of the night. take our gum, sunflower seeds, and then we'd have to up some of the good candies - chips and chocolate. Then we take them down to the hospital kids still in our costumes.

There are no kids in my building. I haven't had a trick or treater for over 20 years. Most of the kids in my neighborhood go to the shops and restaurants for their candy.

I still can't believe the people that buy the cheap shitty candy. Jolly's and twizzlers aren't too bad...as long as they aren't all green apple Jolly's and black licorice

those shitty peanut butter candies wrapped in paper and/or bit-o-honey, etc really suck
The green ones make you horny!
There is a butterfingers joke there just waiting for me....hahaha

Our neighborhood is huge so we would take our kids out and they would barely be able to carry the load back.

We would let them have at it that night and then I would go through and purge all of the bullshit candy that I knew they wouldn't eat and collect my candy tax. Fun times.

Oddly none of them really liked snickers, etc., so I got all those. They seemed to prefer the sour stuff rather than chocolate, etc.

Same as every year. Full size reese's. Truthfully I buy them for me. Maybe 5 kids this year. All very early and very young. I am amazed more kids do not come to our complex. Hit 30 townhouses in about 20 mins. Big score. We threw the apples at the houses that gave out fruit. EDIT: back in the day!

I don’t think we had a single kid this year. I had a couple bags of reeces cups (the big cups) I was going to give out in person. Then a bag of the cheap candy I leave out when we drive to the haunted house. I figured if I left the reeces some kids would take them all.
didnt get a single one in person, and the bowl looked untouched when I came back. We had a decent amount last year, it’s weird.
