The thing I find that’s worse than ever is what @bootlegger10 mentioned, both sides look past and relentlessly defend their people and the people they want to like. Especially when it comes to Trump. People hate him so much they will literally say anything to defend Kamala even though she’s a terrible candidate. And don’t label me as some MAGA lover either as I’ve never voted for Trump. Anyway, disappointing to see the band hanging with Emhoff.BTW I genuinely think the band are really good people that do great things for communities and charities and such. Doesn’t mean we all as fans have to like every single thing they stand for.0

He denied slapping his girlfriend so, no, I don't think he has repented for his sins.
Sounds like you are just making excuses because he supports the party you support. The old "everybody does it" excuse. Good stuff. No, I’m not making excuses for his behavior. What he did was wrong. But I have 2 choices in this election, and one of them is fascism. So yeah, I’m going to overlook the fact that he slapped a woman.Should I vote for Mussolini or Matteotti? Hmm, well, Matteotti’s wife did slap a guy once…0 -

Similarly, to the ridiculous hypothetical that was posed above, Dhani Harrison is not responsible for his father's behavior or his father's erstwhile bandmates' behavior. There is an obvious difference between that imaginary scenario and choosing to engage directly with someone who stands accused of exactly the kind of thing the band has taken principled stands on throughout its career.
In sum, two things can be true at the same time:
1) Trump is unfit for office for many reasons, including that he stands credibly accused of sexual violence by numerous women and has, in fact, bragged about his ability to commit acts of sexual violence and get away with it; and
2) Cozying up to someone who also stands accused of domestic violence looks hypocritical for people who have been outspoken against domestic violence in their lives and in their music.I gather speed from you fucking with me.0 -

You keep talking about Trump. I am talking about the guy who admitted knocking up his kids’ nanny, is accused (happy?) of slapping a woman out of jealousy and forcing his way into the car after, and then has former colleagues (accuse) him of being a typical misogynist in the office.
So forgive me after hearing Ed talk about probably 45 minutes now at concerts on women’s rights since 2021 (which is awesome and I applaud the guy), to be a little curious to hear them give a pulpit to this man.You think he is a good guy and don’t believe there is a poor pattern of behavior, while I think there is a pattern. Maybe he is reformed, but a poor choice for a surrogate for PJ whose main campaign item is women’s rights.0 -

bootleg said:No one candidate is ever going to align with all of my views on every subject. But there is such a vast difference between the quality of the candidates I don’t even understand how it’s close. Trump is such a simple, obvious, con man and it saddens me that this many people have fallen for his grift. Do I agree with all of Kamala’s views, nope but it’s like if you had a choice to eat a cheeseburger or a pile of dog shit, and your like “but does the cheeseburger has pickles on it?”
If the choices were republican Mitt Romney or a democratic "7-year old who hasn't even run a lemonade stand, with Bill Cosby as the VP pick" - would democrats not vote for Mitt Romney?
It's bizarre.Post edited by Spiritual_Chaos on"Mostly I think that people react sensitively because they know you’ve got a point"0
