Primaries were non-existent until the 20th century, and primaries did not determine a majority of a party's convention delegates until the 1970s.     Stop making this specious argument. Trump tried to steal the election. He sanctioned fake electors. He instructed the Georgia secretary of state to "find" non-existent votes. You cannot credibly claim that he is the candidate that stands for "democracy." It is even more ironic to do so because the only reason he was elected once is that the way in which we elect our presidents is *not* democratic. He won without earning even a plurality of the vote in a presidential election. (He didn't reach 47 percent of the vote in either election.)

    No one candidate is ever going to align with all of my views on every subject.  But there is such a vast difference between the quality of the candidates I don’t even understand how it’s close.  Trump is such a simple, obvious, con man and it saddens me that this many people have fallen for his grift.  Do I agree with all of Kamala’s views, nope but it’s like if you had a choice to eat a cheeseburger or a pile of dog shit, and your like “but does the cheeseburger has pickles on it?”

    It’s also not a coincidence that McDonald’s had an E. coli outbreak after Trump faked worked there one day serving French fries to paid actors. Rumor has it Trump has vowed to deport all French fries if he is re elected. Make McDonald’s Great Again he posted on X.

    The assault allegations seem weak to me. He supposedly slapped her and she slapped him back. Unfortunate but not really anything criminal and his ex wife has nothing but good things to say.

    Grown man. Father. Previously divorced.  Spots girlfriend talking to other guy.   Decides that is not cool and walks up and slaps her.  This is not normal behavior.   You seem to equate her slapping him back as making things even.   

    It seems like he was a creep in his law firm days and I've not even mentioned yet him thinking it was a good idea to have an affair with his kids' nanny/teacher.  If he wasn't married to Kamala you would think he was a creep.  

    Sure, compare everyone to Trump, Epstein, Weinstein and they look like saints.  But don't excuse bad behavior because they aren't as egregious as others.   It is great Ed stands up for women at the concerts, but it is disappointing to see them then talk with a man who has such little respect for them.

    If you’re looking for purity in politics, or really anywhere in life, you’re going to be a lonely, lonely person.

    I think Imagine is terribly boring at live shows.  I was just thinking the other day in fact about how I don't really care for Ed's acoustic solo songs to start the encores at PJ shows anymore.   Full band.

    He denied slapping his girlfriend so, no, I don't think he has repented for his sins.  

    Sounds like you are just making excuses because he supports the party you support.    The old "everybody does it" excuse.  Good stuff.

Do you believe everything you see/read on the internet? I trust eddie and Jeff that they align themselves with upstanding people and support honest candidates and not a felon, cheating, lying, anti American racist like Trump.

    Every post defending Emhoff brings up Trump's activities.  This totally undercuts your argument because you all are basically not denying his behavior but justifying your support for him because he isn't as bad as Trump.   

    I absolutely believe the slapping accusations.   It seems credible to me.  It isn't like there is money to be made by falsely accusing as I would agree that a slap is definitely not the same level as other accusations that could be made.

    And just so you all know, I didn't vote for Trump in 2016 and voted for Biden/Harris in 2020.  I am pro-abortion but also can understand being passionate about being pro-life so I don't think each side is evil.  So don't label me as MAGA or think that bringing Trump in as a defense is going to make one iota of difference to my thought process.  

    I trust the band.  They seem like really good people.  But, like the Jackson song I was listening to this morning, its "human nature" to look past faults of those you want to like.

The thing I find that’s worse than ever is what @bootlegger10 mentioned, both sides look past and relentlessly defend their people and the people they want to like. Especially when it comes to Trump. People hate him so much they will literally say anything to defend Kamala even though she’s a terrible candidate. And don’t label me as some MAGA lover either as I’ve never voted for Trump. Anyway, disappointing to see the band hanging with Emhoff.

The thing with Trump is that he is guilty cause the guy is recorded and they have him in interviews confessing to his crimes. And Kamala def isn’t perfect, no candidate is but She’s not terrible, she has good ideas and is trying to bring people together. Your  argument makes zero sense.     I agree with this 100%. There are a myriad of ways to support the campaign that don't involve sitting down with a guy that has a credible dv accusation hanging over him. Frankly I find it odd that the campaign is pushing him out there rather than sidelining him.

    She’s has good ideas? 😂. She’s been in office for four years and hasn’t done shit but okay. And I get it…nobody can ever disagree or have a different opinion than the guys in Pearl Jam here on the forums. 

    BTW I genuinely think the band are really good people that do great things for communities and charities and such. Doesn’t mean we all as fans have to like every single thing they stand for.
