^ Oh man! I bet that was awesome.
  • ^ Oh man! I bet that was awesome.
I had butterflies through the whole movie. Its mindblowing to me how I was able to catch a showing of my all time favorite film (and with that Q&A!) while being here. And it not showing when I was down at Ohana or when I had gone back home etc.

Even when I booked the trip I checked, even if it would be a shot in the dark, to see of this particilur film was showing anywhere. But nothing. Even emailed a few cinemas like The New Beverly and asked if they could show it - with Halloween coming and all. Anyway, nothing.

I had  completely missed this horror festival and its showing wasn’t listed on the site I had looked at for showings of older films. But somehow I stumbled upon it and saw this showing and WENT CRAZY just to the. see it being SOLD OUT.

I wrote and offered double the price if someone wanted to sell their ticket. And the festival reached out and put me on the guestist! How fucking wonderful isn’t that? So while I missed Neil Young I got to see my all time favorite childhood movie! It’s crazy to me that it was showing and that I got see it! And listen to the Q&A. Also stumbled through asking a question with my bad english.

Here is a bonus pic of the famous house I walked by. They had put up a lot of plants to shield from taking pictures. Understandable.

Wow! Bet that film is super fragile. I’d be afraid to thread it through the projector!

Definitely. That final scene where they play Caravan and he peels off the solo, was super tense.

Yeah, I enjoyed it. It’s not going to win any awards, but the Clooney / Pitt chemistry carries it well.

It was very faded. But the audio great. Two reel changes. The dude projecting (who owned the copy) said he had also screened his 16mm copy of Elm Street part 4. Wanna se that one! haha. Nice non-profit cinema in long beach! The mexican place across the street was the best food I ate all trip.
