Ohana...It's OK...just an ER visit...

Edit: Comment if you wish, be respectful, not a d---bag. The post was for no selfish reasons. Those who know me know. 

I went to Ohana and all I got was a head laceration, visit to Mission Laguna ER (thank you Dr. KIm) and a future scar (note sarcasm)....it was an awesome weekend meeting new people, first time at Ohana, shows 44+45.....until flying tambourine greeted itself unwelcomingly to the back of my head. The rest of the story/details before, during and after are not important, this is the Cliff Notes version. Safe travels home and beyond to those I know and those I don't. Home is where every scar is (sarcasm, part 2)....and to Stephanie Frappier, I am so glad Daniella got Jeff's wristband. THAT MADE MY DAY!!

    I see the second thread on this was closed.  Sorry you got hurt.  You say the details aren’t important but they probably are.  I have seen many a tambourine toss and never once seen anything remotely approaching unsafe.  It would be instructive to future audience members to know what exactly happened here.

    Sorry about your injury but I am curious what you’re hoping to get out of all these posts? Also more details would be helpful to those of us who are perplexed by this situation. It hit you in the back of the head but was it thrown from the stage? If so how did it hit the back of your head? If it’s sympathy your looking for you may need to paint a clearer picture.

    The tambourine tossing is cool. Holding up your kid or a sign to get one is not. Taking a selfie of the stage behind you and getting hit with a tambourine is also not cool. +1 on fire breathing. And yes, more details on the incident may prevent future injuries.

    If this was from night two, some of those who joined the band for RITFW hurled the tambourines kinda wildly into the air as they were leaving the stage. Ed makes a point to make a soft toss for an easy pith and catch. These were flung high into the air and then came crashing down. Guessing the original poster was on Mike's side? Hope you're feeling better, OP.

    I’ll never be close enough again to get one so I’d be cool if he quit tossing them or at least limit it. It has become a bit overdone.

    Kids should not be in the pit.  So I'm on board with getting rid of the tambourine toss to quit encouraging kids in the pit.

    Yeah, I remember wincing a bit as one of them went high into the sky. Sorry to hear the out come was pretty much what I was imagining. As scars go tho its a pretty good story.

    Thus proving the old adage - when RITFW starts and it’s 5 minutes to curfew at Ohana start heading to the shuttle bus line.  I already knew to do that but now there’s the added bonus of avoiding the rogue tambo tosses by the noobs.

    He came prepared. Although that would be one heck of a tambourine toss to make it to the palm trees! Man I wish I could have made it the festival this year.

    same...I've been at 34 shows and rarely stay to the very end unless I'm at a venue where I've walked to the show from a nearby hotel.

    No reason to fight the crowd leaving.
