Incredible, emotional version of Untitled and a nice surprise moving into Present Tense (as much as I love MFC). Great synergy between the guys--it's so fun to see them enjoying each other after all this time. Stone was really on one. Unthought was a great upper and the crowd responded. Loved Fuckin Up in the first set, also Save You is such a great live song. High energy from start to end. Maybe someday they'll bring back an electric Parting Ways set-ender but I have no complaints. An honor to see these guys! and did not take it for granted.
Stone definitely seemed to take more solos than previous tours. Totally agree that they seemed to be enjoying playing together, I was struck by that both nights. A band playing together for over 30 years and still having fun playing live.....that's special.
Matt, too. I don't know if the bigger screens allow him to be shown more, but he was on screen a bunch with big smiles and/or reactions.

Highlight for me might be Ed and Glen gazing at each other with utter admiration at the end of Falling Slowly. (Glen's set was awesome, too.)

After seeing two shows now I'm not digging the big screen. I think it enhanced the performance maybe 10% of the time and was mostly a distraction. Particularly when it was just large video of the band or crowd. Giant screens on each side for a big show, totally get it.

Love the screen. Makes them easier to see.

I’m sure they worked better in ballparks (I wasn’t there though). But I hated them in the arena. Much rather have the crowd behind them. The graphics were cheesy and the resolution was awful.
  • I just don't enjoy that the screens cause them to play Do the Evolution at almost every show (way more than they should).
I've seen quite a few Pearl Jam shows.

    IDK...

I saw 22 shows before 2024 & DTE was played at 19 of them - that's been a staple for some time now.

Edit - what year is it?

32 shows for me....DTE played at 24. Has nothing to do with screens

You screen complainers remind me of an old fart I sat next to at a breakfast place a few weeks ago...his complaint was that they changed the syrup container

The screens were worth it just for seeing Ed give himself the finger.
    This weekend we rock Portland

Dude, I'd been using that old style syrup dispenser since the Nixon administration, cut me some slack for being caught off guard and a bit upset.

There are plenty of bands where I'm pro-screen. Tool is the most obvious example. I didn't really like the way they were used. Particularly the giant band and audience projections on the center screen behind the band.

Unreal show, better than N1 for me and best show I've been to since Seattle 2018 for sure.  Lucked out with pit tickets thanks to a fellow board member, and it was great to be able to get so close, even though we didn't get into the pit until 730pm!  The screens were mostly great, and the graphics gave the show an immersive feel in the pit that i didn't get N1 from turf B3.  Immortality is always a highlight, and getting Even Flow in the number two spot was really great (gave the song some new life/no one ran to the bathroom).

I did have a weird interaction with the security staff though.  Upon entering the pit my wife was given a wristband and I was told to use my phone with the tickets to get back into the pit.  I asked for a wristband anyway, but the guy told me it wasn't needed.  Fast-forward to the encore break when I left to use the bathroom and was refused entry when I got back due to lack of wristband.  I was nice about it and told the guys everything, but they just kept shaking their heads.  I told them that i had been in the pit the whole first set, didn't have any other tickets, and suggested they look at pics that i had taken from the pit earlier, and then they waved their flashlight and let me back in.  Looking around I didn't see anyone else without a wristband.  Was odd but ultimately worked out.  Anyone else experience this?

    The wristband makes it easy

I didn't experience that, but security last night lived up (down?) to their reputation in Boston. Absolute clowns. We had to ask multiple staff where to even get the wristbands. Lots of pointing, confused shrugs, and "eh, over there."

The walkway to GA from far left field was closed at one point because staff inside the pit thought it was an entrance and wouldn't let anyone out, while staff outside the pit was telling people it was an exit and wouldn't let anyone in. No signs anywhere. It was a mess.

  • This show really had it all. Hits, deep cuts, covers, great new songs, and all the energy in the world despite it being the end of the tour. The call and response with Mike and Boom during crazy Mary was a truly special moment. Never saw him run over to Boom’s b3 and they just played off one another so fantastically. I’ll be weighing in tomorrow when I have more energy
