I'm from Philly and saw them a few times here, and the fans are amazing. I'm on my way up to New York and heard they fans there are pretty awesome as well... I was just curious... what city has better fans?

I'm thinking as a mom. My kids will ask who I love more and I say I love everyone equally. Same here - Philly fans and NY fans are PJ fans and that is the common denominator. All are good. Maybe that's too boring and people want to start up the arguing again eh?

I wasn't trying to start an argument, I've been to shows (not necessarily pearl jam) where the crowd was just kind of moping around, not doing much, then i've seen the same band play and everyone gets into it... you can feel the energy from the crowd and it's just 100 times better...

they are both very good crowds. there really is no 2 ways about it. both in the top 5 list of "high energy crowds" as far as PJ shows go. (in america of course) so either place you go to the crowd is gonna be great. i think a lot of people fail to remember sometimes that philadelphia and new york are only 80 miles apart thus at philly shows there are a lot of new yorkers there and at new york shows there are a lot of philly people there. it's kind of a blurred group a lot of times because of how close the cities are.

agreed with everyone here.... i see the same people at every show on the east coast...whether it be philly, ny, nj, etc. they are close enough that it's pretty much the same crowd.

There were two guys in front of me last week at the Sox Phils game who did that, but took off their Phillies jerseys to show Red Sox t shirts when Papelbon came into the game to close it out. I personally thought that was pretty weak.

I think it's hard to compare the fans but I think the more interesting shows tend to happen in New York or Boston. Breath was brought back in NY, Leash was brought back in Boston ironically the last place it was played. Randalls Island and MSG shows are legendary shows and Boston had the extra set in 03 to try and finish all the songs from that tour.
