My kid had 2 bouts with this so far. Alot kids in my neighborhood steal for necessity. She's currently using her cc, so the threats of not travelling to Au/Nz are working.I was swimming in the Great Barrier Reef

PJ_Soul said:Yeah, some people are scum. Maybe try putting up a sign saying "Smile, you're on camera!" right there at the CDs? Perhaps that will deter at least some of them (or maybe it's the same person every time!).I really miss peacefrompaul! Several of his threads have been resurrected since the tour announcement and I'm loving it, lol.The owners today said they have always resisted putting up cameras but one of them said in a sad voice, "We may have to . Times have changed."Ah yes, peacefrompaul, good fellow! Wish he were still on board here.Spunkie said:Makes me sad people steal from a small business with the likes of sweet Bri running the show.Jason P said:make an example of the next crook ...Haha! Besides maintaining the used record LP section, I a stock of small quality used CDs at our local used bookstore- my only remaining work since COVID started up- and lately have had an average of about 6 CDs per week walk out the door. What kind of scum rips off a used bookstore? It's hugely discouraging."Mostly I think that people react sensitively because they know you’ve got a point"0

When I was 12 I shoplifted baseball cards and got caught. Other than shooting out a neighbor's sliding glass door windows with a pellet gun at age 10, that's the extent of my trouble with the law.www.cluthelee.com0

My only crime (somewhere around 1973) was stealing a few bales of broken down cardboard from behind a grocery store . A friend of mine convinced young and gullible me that we would be doing them a favor by hauling it off, and we could get beer money for it from the recycling center. I actually had to go into the station and talk to a detective and then go to court. I was mercifully let off with with a stern warning and a load of utter and complete humiliation.
