The "leak" outside the back door of the listening party is obviously band approved, right?

Really hope the final version of the album includes the vibrating metal fire guard sound.0

1- they think they could prevent this from spreading or
2 - would have any legal basis to issue a cease and desist
If you watch Rick Beat's videos, he always talks about it when he comes across a band and he's worried about his video being removed, he won't even play a cover version of the song he's talking about.
Now do I think they are going to scour the internet to find this bootleg recording? No. But I wouldn't have been surprised if they closed the thread on their own forum. I wouldn't have found it otherwise.0 -

I doubt it was intentional marketing, but I think having it out there increases the hype, and that is why they wouldn't be interested in taking it down.

The fact that it was recorded in a public place probably helps justify the video not being taken down. I also notice there aren't any ads running, so a demonetized video says the poster isn't making money off the work. Why the link hasn't been pulled from these boards is weird to me, especially since even an allusion to an existence of a leak is usually stomped.out.0

Man! It’s times like this when I wish we didn’t have the internet. We really lose a lot of mystery of what things sound or look like to what often becomes click bait. I know leaks are going to happen but having a little mystery makes things a lot cooler and more enjoyable.Alpine Valley Music Theatre East Troy, Wisconsin (September 03, 2011); Alpine Valley Music Theatre East Troy, Wisconsin (September 04, 2011); Deluna Fest Pensacola, FL (September 21, 2012); Wrigley Field (July 19, 2013); Milwaukee, WI (October 20, 2014); Wrigley Field I (August 20, 2016); Wrigley Field II (August 22, 2016); Home Shows Seattle Night 1 (August 08, 2018); Home Shows Seattle Night 2 (August 10, 2018); Ohana Festival Dana Point (September 27th - 29th, 2019); Apollo Theater (September 10, 2022); Madison Square Garden (September 11, 2022), Bourbon & Beyond Louisville (September 17th, 2022); Las Vegas (May 16th, 2024); Las Vegas (May 18th, 2024).0

The band has always allowed bootlegs. Only EV solo shows don't. It has sparked discussion and probably increased website traffic quite a bit. They know they have our full attention at the moment.0

Anything is possible. Although I would say if it was a guerilla promotion its pretty brilliant. But my money is on it being a genuine fan posting it if I had to bet.
