And Juggs - that tweet sent me down a worm hole. There's no way this PHLY thing lasts more than two years at best. Only way it does is if they keep conning people into funding them with more millions of dollars.

Yeah you think? I still have not subscribed and don't see a reason to yet and I don't quite understand how there's not an easily accessible app.

It seems to be working in other cities though.

I mean maybe the overall business changes, but I don't think they poached every major writer and media personality in those markets. And those markets are much smaller than Philly. Best equivalent would be the Chicago brand and everything I read on that one is they don't operate like Philly. The reason I'm even hanging around is because of the writers I like. And I don't think they hang around long when they realize their salaries can't be sustained.

Basically the model they're relying on is video/YouTube and they're not pulling no where near the numbers for that.

Yeah. I'm still pissed at what the Athletic turned into over the last few years. The original incarnation was the pinnacle of sports journalism. Seems like we'll never have that again.

I mean I have no idea who that dude is, but I had to follow the mess on Twitter lol.

Also, I'm fairly certain this whole thing is run by Gargano, who is a big dummy. Like the PE company/owners in Denver just send him a shit ton of money and then DA CUZ just shoves a square peg of cash into a round hole.

I just read Boras wants an extension for Harper…who already has 8 years left. Is this a real thing? With Boras, it probably is.

so, this Harper extension thing is real. How do you guys feel about it? If I were phillies brass, I’d say “can we maybe discuss this four years from now?”

Yeah pretty ridiculous and needlessly distracting. I thought he was already set to finish his career here.

wasn't aware that they were playing. Not too familair with them (only know a handful of songs) but the set list looked good. A few live debuts and Kurt Vile opened up for them  :o

It was a great setlist - all their old songs they never play. Argh.

Battle of the bakeries in the office.
    Who won?

I don't think I can really pick one, but I do go to Varallo significantly more often than Termini, but also somewhat treat it as a coffee shop

The Termini tin has more variety but I think the Varallo has better quality, and I have always preferred Varallo.

So what should we talk about? Oh yeah, Chobani bought La Colombe. I guess you'll have like 2" of empty space at the top of the cup of coffee henceforth. Or, as they say, "room for toppings."

I didn't realize the Chobani guy was the big investor in La Colombe.
Seems like partnering with KDP could be a good move.

I am pleased to announce Tired Hands now sells sixtels of their beers. Apparently they've been doing this for about six months now. Picked  up Alien Church for the ol' kegerator this afternoon. Giddy the fuck up.

I miss having a kegorator.  Don't drink enough beer to have one, now.

Went to the Christmas Village this evening with the family.  Not nearly as crowded as when we go on weekends, much better.  Always like that spot.
Was going to go to the one in FDR Park this year but they rip you all around for pricing.  Anyone checked that place out?

had to google a “sixtel.” good little size….(55) 12 oz beers, but I’m sure our juggler drinks pints, like a real man. if I may ask, what’s a sixtel of good beer cost?
