Wait a minute......Don Mattingly's son is now our Assistant GM? Does that mean @igotid88 has to root for the Phillies now?
I guess Big Don is one more bad April/May away from taking over Bryce & the Gang.

“assistant GM”? sounds about like an MLB “offensive coordinator.”

Dombs talked with Harper and he's going to play exclusively at first, they're moving on from Hoskins. Sad in some ways, but definitely the better, more flexible, option going forward.

Yeah, bummer for him for sure.

Looks like their sole target this off-season is Nola, or whoever takes Nola's place.
  • That bat-spike HR will always be an all-time favorite Phillies moment for me. First playoff game at CBP in over a decade and it was unhinged.

Well if they trade him....then I'd think keeping Rhys and putting Bryce in OF would make sense

They should trade for Trout if they trade Nicky

I think that's the only way Rhys becomes a possibility. But, regardless, I think that gives them so much more flexibility.

I meeeean, Nicky shouldn't stand in the way of trading for Trout...not sure there is a player in baseball that should stand in the way of trading for Trout, for any team?

Not really interesting news, just reminds me of my dumb dad joke about Federal Donuts. Don't worry it isn't donuts made by the government, it's named after Federal St. which is near its original location.

I would gladly put Mike Trout in a bubble each season to not play until after the all star break in exchange for the OPS alone.

With that said, the Phils don't have the pieces to get Trout. I think the only way Trout ever comes here is if he's a dick and says to mgmt "you're trading me to Philly and no where else." And I cannot see Mike Trout being a big baby like that.

I thought it’d be a real mess without Nola. Glad he’s coming back!
