Silverchair finished....

I wouldn't call it a "favorite moment" but it was definitely memorable: I'm pretty sure it was on the Frogstomp tour (definitely at the height of their popularity), and they were between songs and the audience was screaming. I assume Daniel Johns must've spit to the side, clearing his throat, but what I heard was a horrified Johns saying into the mic "What? What? Did you just say you want me to spit on you??? That's disgusting! Uuuugggghhhh!!!"
I remember thinking "Oh, this poor kid, he's so young and he's dealing with the insanity of manic girls desperate for attention, he sounds totally traumatized! I hope he makes it through this..." I assume he did make it through, I didn't really keep up with them after this, but I thinkt his seems like a great message to fans and it makes all the sense in the world.
I wish them all the best of luck....0 -
For those interested Silverchair have just appeared on Australian TV program ‘Australian Story’ on the ABC. It’s a two part program looking at their early success and subsequent struggles. Chris and Ben agreed to appear but probably as expected, Daniel didn’t. Only part 1 has aired so far with part 2 to follow. I’m sure Australian fans will be able to see it on ABC IView, I’m not sure about overseas viewers!? It is certainly worth a look if you’re a fan of the band. 🤘

There was a fantastic interview with Daniel recently before the Silverchair exhibit opened. It was compelling, and really quite tough to watch. It left no doubt that there are some serious issues between the band members and a reunion really isnt ever going to happen.
Daniel was super raw and open in that interview and whilst I knew he had had demons over the years and some issues, I had never understood how much he had struggled.
an essential watch, as hard as it is, for any fan0 -
