A movie theatre shooting with 12 killed and 58 wounded will do that to a community. Regardless, the right to privacy no longer exists. That movie with Will Smith being surveilled everywhere he went has come to fruition, in some places more than others but it’s expanding everyday via ring doorbells and technology. to be clear, I'm not "bitching" about it. I just find it odd that it was all released, presumably by several different entities, when no crime was committed.

The sad truth is that you can’t walk out the front door of your house or employer without being on camera somewhere in your travels until you get home unless you’re self employed or retired and never leave your house or live in the sticks. The surveillance state is here to stay and while the US government doesn’t own or operate these cameras, they can fairly easily get access with a warrant or subpoena, or upon compliance via a request. And I don’t think there is any regulation against a private entity releasing, posting or making public any footage their camera picks up. I have resigned to accept that that’s how it is these days and it’s not going back.

Did we need to “see” Lorena Bobbitt being escorted out of the movie theatre? No. But if she were asked by the press or a constituent whether she did those things and was asked to leave and denied it? Then there’s reason or justification to release it. Elected members of congress should conduct themselves appropriately and when confronted, not lie about the obvious. But here we are (not saying she lied, just in general). Moving boxes comes to mind.

I couldn’t care less that Bobo was having fun in a dark theatre. People do that shit all the time. The problem is the hypocrisy. If a dem was caught doing that, she’d go all “save the children” on them.

I think context and agency are key factors, TBH.

If Lauren Boebert is going through a divorce and in the meantime is getting some action, okay, it's none of my business. Whether I approve or not is irrelevant. But "fondling in a public place where children are present," that's really not okay, and it wouldn't be okay if you were doing it or if I were doing it, with our spouses or with some random person or whatever. Get a freaking room and screw each other's brains out, I really don't care.

I'm less current on the "news" since Elon blocked non-registered users from accessing Twitter (thank you!), but, I... think? that you're referring to a Dem candidate who is a sex worker? I'm okay with that. Sex work is work, and sex seems to play a pretty large role in most people's lives, and it's a natural part of life. Is she engaging in sex acts at the mall? No? Okay. Is she being coerced? No? Okay.

So rape is bad, sexual assault is bad, human trafficking is bad, sexual harassment is bad, revenge porn is bad, what Larry Nasser and the guy Gym Jordan enabled did is horrible. Why: Lack of consent, lack of agency. Being a sex worker? It's called the world's oldest profession for a reason. Frankly, I think our country would be a lot better off if people quit getting all worked up over the sex other people are or are not having, and worried more about pervasive violence.

also, for her to blame her divorce for her behavior is pretty shitty too. it is a cop out. it is a play for sympathy. many of us carry pain or trauma from a recent breakup, but you don't see all of us acting like this in public.

lastly, this person that is always talking about her morals and her christian values has no business forcing her morals on everybody else. maybe if she hadn't cheated on her husband she might be able to get away with it. but the minute someone like her starts telling everyone else how to live she loses any moral high ground she may have had.
