    It may be odd. Or he may have had a very good reason for saying that.

    what is by far much more strange is the rights reaction, because the no comment in and of itself was meaningless. Biden and the feds will get  aid into the region (unlike republicans who actually voted AGAINST emergency help for the Hurricane Sandy victims ten years ago). 

    actually voting against emergency aid vs no comment. Yeah it’s the left that gets away with nonsense /s

    to make matters worse, is it Bidens party  supporting the never ending burning of fossil fuels that harm the climate that makes fires like Maui worse?

    Even removing trump from the equation.  Imagine if GW or his father or hell, if Mitt won the presidency and said "No comment".  There would be an uproar, just different voices.  

    In reality, it's just a weird statement to make, but presidents have microphones pushed in the faces all the time, some weird stuff is bound to happen.

    & every response is dissected / examined / scrutinized to no end, so in a lot of (most?) cases, 'no Comment' is the safest thing that can be said.

    I found this excerpt from last night's Letter to an American particularly interesting, and relevant.

    I haven't heard of this so it must be a right wing echosphere that only gets mentioned on a Pearl Jam forum.

    I did see that when Joe went to speak in Maui, that he said he could relate to the fire because he knows what it's like to lose a home due to fire which is another total bullshit lie.

    That's how out of touch Joe is. He believes that a small kitchen fire is similar to the most deadly US fire in the last 100 years. Of course he's going to nod off because he's old. I don't even care to look into that.

    It is pretty pathetic that Joe doesn't get called out when he straight up lies trying to compare what he's gone through to something that is much bigger than his stupid little kitchen fire.
