I’m not a fan of Future Days, River Cross, and The Haves style songs on PJ records.

I hope that doesn't mean more songs like Take the Long Way. That was one of my least favorites on Gigaton. More rocking, but less heavy at this point is better IMHO. Their mid-tempo stuff is where they shine. Songs more along the lines of Severed Hand, Whoever Said, Got Some and Getaway would be great.
    It's a hopeless situation...

Give me longer and moody rock songs with Eddies deep voice. More Jimi Hendrix, Phone Went West-My Morning Jacket, early-70s Neil Young and All or None/Can't Keep/Half Full-Riot Act and less whatever Eddies fast paced punk-influences are where he can barely up with the lyrics.

Yeah fuck all these slow songs like Just Breathe and River Cross. I want the classic era style like Crazy Mary and Nothingman.

I like slow/mid tempo if it's CHARGED, but not sappy. Like I Got Shit. that's mid tempo, but it has an emotional feel that just gets you up there. It builds to a crescendo, but doesn't speed up. it's just intense. VS was harder and angrier, vitalogy/no code were tempered, and I love that era.

But I actually like all the eras for what they are. Even BS and LB. You can tell when a band tries to get "back to its roots" and it's not natural. I assume this would be natural, as this band, I just can't see them forcing it.

Exactly! They sound like they’re doing covers of other bands with these songs that are sung nearly out of register and paced to where a 60 year old lifelong smoker can’t keep up.

I absolutely love River Cross but accept its not really a PJ track.

I was listening last night to Reggae Woman that Ed put out years ago, fantastic track. Would love to hear a solo record in that vein

Is it a cover of Stevie wonder’s boogie on reggae woman? Never hear the Ed time, how have I missed that?

Yeah, Ed has picked up some bad habits that he didn’t do when he had a younger voice. He does this movement with his jaw when he sings that he didn’t do in the past. I don’t like it at all.
I died. I died and you just stood there. I died and you watched. I died and you walked by and said no. I'm dead.

yeah, I first noticed it on backspacer. wonder where he picked that up. or if it was a necessary adjustment based on something like aging or whatever.
