    Russell Wilson, who Turner's current situation most resembles, got booed on the jumbotron when he was one of the NBA Finals games in Denver. So much so that they stopped showing him on it after that. That's more Philly than Philly these days. 
    '03. Last year at the Vet. He went from being a .280 hitter with 37 homers the year before to barely cracking .200 but he was getting standing ovations every time he came up. It was crazy. Had the Sunday plan back then. Miss those days!
    I remember him having a bad slump year but I don't really remember the ovations. Either way, like you said, something like that happening organically is cool, but setting it up on Twitter...not so much. 

    And ahh...The Vet. I can close my eyes and just feel all the soda and peanut shells stuck to the bottom of my sneakers as Mike Lieberthal fouls off a John Franco fastball.

    Whatever dude. We are the city that's seen some stupid video from the 60s about snowballs and Santa Claus played on national TV about 24 million times and we're really fucking sick of it. Also we are stuck with the guy for 10 1/2 more years so we all better get used to him.

    lololol...alright, now I am all in.  I thought Philly was the city of champions, juggs?  Between the enormous rings for winning the NL and standing ovations for guys batting .090...maybe it's the city of participation trophies?

    For the record, as I stated above, Turner will be fine long term and he doesn't need a couple claps to make himself feel shittier about himself.
