Terrible loss. Turner now tied for the league lead in errors.
I am utterly shocked somebody else has as many errors as him. Only 10 1/2 more years of Roger Dorn playing SS.

They blew that game, should have won. Hopefully they get the series win later today.

What is a good comparison to what is happening with Turner this year? Is there one? Lance Parish maybe? I was like 10 but remember him being a big all star signing who was poop his first year here. Such a weird situation.

He's gotta come out of this soon or later right? Right?

oh wow there's a name that I haven't heard in years. Maybe him. How about Dale Murphy? Don't think he was horrible when he came in, maybe average...

Nice win. Lorenzen looked solid. I'll take three out of four. Back home vs KC next!

Dale Murphy was at the tail end of his career though. Turner is right smack in his prime. So weird.

But anyway, yeah--big series win. Can't win 'em all....except it would be nice to sweep this shitty Royals team this weekend.

    GO PHILS.

Yeah and Dale Murphy was a 2-time MVP and 7-time all-star. I get Dave's point, he was underwhelming when he joined the Phillies. But Murphy, a borderline HOFer to some, being underwhelming, isn't the same as Turner, a two-time all-star, being flat-out terrible.

It may go down as one of the worst free-agent signings in baseball history. Sure, he can't possibly continue to be this bad (RIGHT???) but even at his best, 11 years and $300 million for a guy that runs fast and hits for average? I mean, come on. That's the type of contract reserved for a slugger. It could've been money spent on someone like Juan Soto...or somebody like that. Not that I raised my hand at the time and complained. But I'm not Dombrowski tasked with making these sort of moves.

If Turner can get that kind of contract, Ohtani may get over a billion dollars from a team like the Dodgers.

Dave you gotta take a haymaker in the face you know.

Let's not jump off the Walt Whitman Bridge just yet over the Turner contract. He at least played good defense today.

He also averages 23 homers a year. Let's not act like he's Juan Pierre or something...lol

Are you people on board with the Turner standing ovation thing? That was cool 20 years for Burrell

Were you here when we did that for Burrell though? That was cool because it was organic and not set up by social media. I still like the idea though.

Something like a nice cheer but a standing o seems like a bit much. I'd say Trea Turner doesn't want your pity.

I don't remember this with Burrell. What year was this? And was he sucking and the fans gave him a standing ovation for encouragement or something?

As for Turner, I dunno, it seems a little patronizing. I'm not quite to point where I'd boo him every time he comes to the plate, but I wouldn't give him a standing ovation either.

Russell Wilson, who Turner's current situation most resembles, got booed on the jumbotron when he was one of the NBA Finals games in Denver. So much so that they stopped showing him on it after that. That's more Philly than Philly these days.

'03. Last year at the Vet. He went from being a .280 hitter with 37 homers the year before to barely cracking .200 but he was getting standing ovations every time he came up. It was crazy. Had the Sunday plan back then. Miss those days!

Speaking of Burrell, it's kind of sad how his career just completely fell off a cliff after he left in '08. He was only 31 at the time. Sort of seemed like he was older than that back then.
