    I read this out to my girlfriend (whom I've gotten into Seinfeld in the past couple years), and her take is that George was being annoying and so the shopkeep just sold him something to get George out of the store.  

    I never imagined there'd be so many different takes on this scenario!

    Damn, this is a great question. I won't post the answer because I had to look it up.

    On a side note, The Drake is, by far in my opinion, the worst character to ever come through Seinfeld. They build him up as if he's going to be funny and/or interesting. "GOTTA LOOOOOOOOVEEEEEEEEE THE DRAKE!" "The Drake is good!" "How can you NOT like The Drake?" But then we meet him, and he's a blithering loser who gets dumped, cries about it, and doesn't do or say anything that's remotely funny. And then in a later episode, though unseen, he schedules his wedding on the day of the Super Bowl. He sucks. Long story short....I hate The Drake. But I love the trivia question because it's a good one.

    The Drake's first name is Scott.  I only know that from accidentally leaving the subtitles on the other night.  The Drake isn't the best, but for whatever reason I find it funny when he says "Gagliano's, that's pretty good" while crying.

    Yeah that line's not bad. And the bit of him and his wife watching the Jerry show on a small portable TV was a nice callback to him giving away the large TV. Still hate The Drake though.

    I think the fact that he sucks so much after them hyping him up as they did makes the Drake all the more interesting to me. Like Newman, perhaps there's more to The Drake than meets the eye?

    No her first appearance isn't until season 4 in The Contest.

    No he first appears in season 2 threatening suicide, (voiced by Larry David), and Wayne Knight make his first appearance as Newman in season 3 (coincidently, in an episode titled "The Suicide").

    Wayne Knight then recorded the voice of Newman in season 2 for syndication.

    Good catch on the trick question aspect of this because if I said "which character," then Morty and Helen would be correct. But by asking "which actor," Liz Sheridan as Helen is the correct answer.

    that was my first thought. Probably too obvious. My next guess was George's parents, but that again is probably too obvious.

    Now kinda looking at the answer (after looking at minor characters on wikipedia)  makes sense.
