What was the color of George's defective condom?
I'll guess that it was orange but I can't really remember. I didn't even think he was going to use 'em....
Incorrect.  He does use one, with Elaine's friend Cynthia.  Elaine asks Cynthia specifically about the color.

I was quoting Kramer when he said "I didn't even think you'd use it."

Now that you mention Elaine asking about it, I think she asked "Was it blue?"

Damn it, I should've picked up on that!

    And yes!
  • Sticking with the theme of contraception, and staying in the same episode (I think), what is the phrase Jerry uses for impregnating a woman despite using birth control?

There are, I believe, two references to the Guggenheim Museum. One is pretty memorable, the other might not be to most people.

    Describe those two references!
The memorable one is George claiming to have worked on the new addition when he and Jerry are trying to make it seem like they haven't seen each other since high school.

The other one is George telling a girlfriend that wanted to go to the Guggenheim that she can "go Guggenheim with her friends" or something to that effect.
I'll see you in hell, ledbetterman.

Can you name that girlfriend and why George was peeved with her in that scene?
I can't. I only remember the "Go Guggenheim" line because it kinda stands out...but I can't place it with a specific scene or episode.
    JULIE! She took credit for...

Debating whether or not to get a ticket to see Jerry Seinfeld at the Beacon. What do you all think of his standup? Would it be worth checking out?

When Jerry's parents tell him about Uncle Leo's past crime of passion, they admit to their own thievery.  What do Helen and Morty steal?

He was awesome from like 2005-2011. Has definitely fallen off a bit since then. I wish we had iPhones in 2005 and I could’ve audio recorded his set because I was dying laughing the entire time.

I think part of it for me is the whole "observational" humour has kind of been played out. it's all very predictable now. and a lot of the time he's just shouting his punch lines, which is weird.

Who are the three Yankees quoted in the paper that talk about how much easier it is to play in Cotton uniforms? George gleefully reads their quotes to Jerry.

Bonus points if you can remember, or at least paraphrase, their quotes.

Well worst of is that in 1998, he did an HBO special where he "retired" his old act. It's a great special. He then had that "Comedian" documentary that showed him creating a new act. That doc is also great. When I saw him in 2005, everything was brand new and hilarious. There was bits about the Iraq War (referring to an unskilled suicide bomber as "Jihad E. Coyote" being my favorite). There was a bit about *69 for caller ID ("What kind of perverts do we have working at the phone company anyway? 69? Of all the numbers!"). And many others that I wish I could remember. He was fantastic.

Then...I saw him around 2013ish. To my dismay, he had brought back a lot of old jokes. Believe it or not, he actually did the "Socks having a party in the dryer" bit from the very first episode of Seinfeld. There was other old jokes I was familiar with. I was very, very disappointed.

I think that Jerry thinks that jokes are like songs. That is...in that same way you can see a band play a song live multiple times and it can be awesome each time, he seems to think jokes work like that. They don't.

When Paul McCartney started Wings, he went like five years without playing any Beatles songs because he wanted to establish Wings. Once established, he began dropping in The Long and Winding Road and Yesterday and after long, Beatles songs were the biggest part of his set. It's almost as if Jerry had the same thinking. His new act was like Wings. He established it (I'm telling you, he was HILARIOUS in 2005). But after that he seemed to think "Okay, well that worked. Now I want to go back to my favorite jokes to tell." Unfortunately, the "sock bit" isn't exactly "Hey Jude."
