Huntington… down street from Paramount theatre

    they get solid acts

Just saw Silversun pickups there and a few weeks back sunny day real estate and guster in March. VERY solid venue.

makes up a tiny bit for PJ and Tool not liking NYC area that much.

For reference the scale only goes up to 500...

    50 is considered Moderate.

We on "Lung" Island are currently at 163 which is "Very Unhealthy"

If this were happening on the west coast this time of year, I would be very concerned.  That it is happening back east and this early in the year is disturbing.  In the west, we generally consider August through October as typical "fire season".  We've had large fires earlier than than and the one that wipe out Paradise and parts of Magalia, CA went into December.  But I don't recall and serious fires in late spring like what is happening in eastern Canada.

I hope those of you affected are able to stay indoors as much as possible.  If you can afford one, I would recommend getting a good quality air "purifier" (I tend to think that's a misnomer, but that's what they call them).  I did a lot of research on various purifiers and due to our age and health, opted for the top of the line- an IQAir Health Pro Plus.  Another good choice and not quite as expensive are some of the Blueair options.  A good air purifier will help you breathe easier!

Best wishes, east coast friends. Hang in there!

Thanks. I hope your part of the country isn't hit too bad later this year. A few months ago I just happened to get an air purifier because my 17 year old cat was diagnosed with mild asthma and I wanted to make sure he was ok. I did some research as well, and got a really good one according to consumer reports. It is made by Honeywell. Not top of the line, but really decent. That thing has been on full blast the last few days.
