almost blew this game. Looks like we could be headed to extra innings though. Bryce looks like he hasn't hardly missed any playing time. Come on Phills!eeriepadave said:looks like we are back to the first week of the season. Giving up 13 runs each in both games, not too good. Least Nola is pitching today.edit: never mind we did blow it in the bottom of the ninth

Wow, this team is really frustrating again! Although didn't they start off about the same last year? Our pitching is suspect. Also why the fuck is Schwarber batting leadoff? it's not working!

Yesterday Stott lead off and the lineup was so stacked down to the one-thousand+ OPS Marsh batting 8th. 6-1 win.eeriepadave said:Wow, this team is really frustrating again! I gotta say I hate the wave - especially during a an actual game - but the hot dogs flying (and exploding) everywhere during it was pretty great.0

Was it dollar dog night again? They're just gonna selling dollar hot dogs at this rate. lolJearlpam0925 said:I gotta say I hate the wave - especially during a an actual game - but the hot dogs flying (and exploding) everywhere during it was pretty great.

It was. Really didn't like having the wave in the middle of a 5-3 game (or what ever it was, it was close), but watching the crowd throw more and more aluminum wrapped hot dogs up into the air every go-round was a delight. Plus, they brought in two more runs right after it happened. The Juggler said:

One of these days they'll learn that dollar dog nights probably aren't worth it and will nix the fun at some point.0 -

Clearly someone from the organization saw my post on here and told Thomson about it
Only 1/2 game out of a second place now.

This play happened 34 years ago today and is probably the best inside the park homerun in Phillies history as well as one of Harry K's best calls!

Union guys I met with this morning seemed pleased enough with Parker's victory. I guess they just didn't want Gym to win. Anyway, all we can do is hope for the best. And be happy Jeff Brown got crushed.Spectrum 10/27/09; New Orleans JazzFest 5/1/10; Made in America 9/2/12; Phila, PA 10/21/13; Phila, PA 10/22/13; Baltimore Arena 10/27/13; Phila, PA 4/28/16; Phila, PA 4/29/16; Fenway Park 8/7/16; Fenway Park 9/2/18; Asbury Park 9/18/21; Camden 9/14/22; Las Vegas 5/16/24; Las Vegas 5/18/24; Phila, PA 9/7/24; Phila, PA 9/9/24; Baltimore Arena 9/12/24; Pittsburgh 5/16/25; Pittsburgh 5/18/25

Both Brown and Domb. It was the realistic result I was expecting but still can't help but be bummed, really was hoping for Rhynhart. And if Domb wasn't an idiot, and bailed out of the race, then there's a good chance that would've happened. At the end of the day can't be worse than Kenney though, or least I think. And cheers to first woman mayor in City's history.
The talking point coming out of this, though, is it's absolutely beyond time for rank choice voting.

Yes Cheers to the first woman mayor. It's unbelievable how far behind the times Pennsylvania is in that area.Spectrum 10/27/09; New Orleans JazzFest 5/1/10; Made in America 9/2/12; Phila, PA 10/21/13; Phila, PA 10/22/13; Baltimore Arena 10/27/13; Phila, PA 4/28/16; Phila, PA 4/29/16; Fenway Park 8/7/16; Fenway Park 9/2/18; Asbury Park 9/18/21; Camden 9/14/22; Las Vegas 5/16/24; Las Vegas 5/18/24; Phila, PA 9/7/24; Phila, PA 9/9/24; Baltimore Arena 9/12/24; Pittsburgh 5/16/25; Pittsburgh 5/18/25

I don’t have a huge opinion, but I find this very compelling and good

But I mean yeah Black people should, and do, have solidarity for one another. And that shouldn't be overlooked. But I don't think the above tells me much out of this though. Black people historically live with more poverty, more poverty means more violence. Rallying around the candidate whose the woman of color is why I figure she'd win (and because she got support of 44 wards). She overwhelmingly got the minority vote while white precincts split their vote.

She ran on the rhetoric that kids should be in school year round and to use stop and frisk "in a constitutional way" (whatever that means). These are just some of my issues. But I'll get over it, just gonna have to keep her honest.
My issue is with having a mayor (or any candidate of any public office, for that matter) be put into office without a majority of the vote. And because of that we're going to get more of the same.
But, again 1) first woman in office 2) have to be better than Kenney. That's good stuff.

The way I see it is that violence, particularly gun violence, is obviously a massive issue plaguing the city and I find it very positive that the people most impacted by it, regardless of race, are the ones to decide how they feel it should be dealt with.0
