Is the second encore gone for good?

I think it might be gone for good. I selfishly hope they stretch the encore a little at the last Austin show of the tour. I would be OK with the shortened set if they threw in a little more "surprises". Unfortunately, at this stage in their career i think they feel obligated to play the "hits" for the first timers and casual fans. I hope i am wrong and pleasantly surprised.

I’m not expecting more than 2022 but I’m hoping for it. 9 shows in 3 weeks isn’t exactly exhausting but it would be foolish to go in thinking it’ll be more than 22-24 songs a night. Hope they prove us wrong!0

I believe it’s in the 22-25 range from now on unless it’s a special circumstance like playing Chicago/Seattle or where there’s some real special connection.0

yes and that's fine with me...although it does still get me that the setlists are shorter and they still play covers.
But I'm just happy they are still at it. Whatever they want to do I'll buy a ticket.Remember the Thomas Nine !! (10/02/2018)

Leaving PJ20 we thought we’d never see them again. We promised ourselves that we would just try to see them as much as possible because someday it will end. So 1 encore, no encore, we’ll keep going.0

I don't think the band can handle such long shows anymore (neither can a lot of their fans, hahaha). It's just age - you get worn out more easily. That's life. I'm good with that. Honestly, I think a 2.5 - 3hr show is too long no matter what. The crowd starts to wain and weaken, alcohol sales ended a long time ago and some people are getting hungover, lol, and the non-megafans have had enough and some even start to leave before the show's over. a 2 - 2.25 hour show is ideal IMO.

I just did the math. All in with the ticket, flight, and hotel for St Paul, I'm putting out 50 bucks a song if they play 22. I have 24 hours to cancel the flight. I'm gonna sleep on it and see if I still think it's worth it tomorrow.0
