100% to all of this. Going alone and buying single tix is just smarter, lol. I find myself in a pickle sometimes, like when a show I'm really excited about is announced and then a friend actually says to me "we should go to that", I'm like, ummmmm, yeeeaaaahhhhhh. Haha. Although in small venues I'm okay with wherever, so I can save those for tix with friends. Like the wonderful Commodore - I actually prefer the balcony at a table to the floor there, because the sound and view is so damn good there anyway, plus my friends love it.
I absolutely HAVE to see a show at the Commodore at some point. I've heard it's quite the room.

What's she going to tell us next is that the earth spins so fast that the carbon in the atmosphere, which is heavier than air, is all shooting out into space and has no affect of global warming whatsoever.  Right, Marjorie, riiiiiiiiiiiight!

I really like reading the UK on-line news, The Guardian, but I've also been feeling a bit irked by them lately.  Nearly every day now, their front page has an article about and photo of Margarine Trailor Green. Let's see if that's true today...

Ahhhhhh huh!  Just as I thought.
So partially in their defense, Greenie does make a lot of rattling noise that draws attention.  She likes to stir the cesspool.  But on the other hand, I wouldn't mind AT ALL seeing less of that... well, you know...

And I would so much rather see a photo of a margarine and green trailer instead.  Ya know?

From what I can wrap my head around, I observe five major voting cohorts:

    1. Trumpist: Pro-Trump
    2. Will-hear-you-out conservative: Pro-Republican, Trump-tolerant, anti-Democrat
    3. Won't-hear-you-out conservative: Pro-Republican/anti-Democrat
    4. Will-hear-you-out democrat: Pro-Democrat, anti-Trump, anti-Republican
    5. Won't hear you out democrat: Pro-liberal, Democrat-tolerant, anti-Republican

I don't envision any changes for Cohorts 1, 3, 4, or 5, and I'm unconvinced that given the degradation of the Republican party over the past decade, this will have any impact whatsoever. Even the partisan divides now have partisan divides, and no one wants to engage with different opinions, nor to risk being proven wrong.

Currently, there’s nothing this repub party represents that I want to “hear out.” It is a party dominated by white evangelical supremacists who only want to be misogynistic, racist and anti-woke, whatever that means, LGBQT. They are hateful with absolutely no reasonable policy solutions for any of our most pressing problems. About the only thing I have in common with members of the current repub party and their voters is the color of my blood and a passport, if they have one. Sad.

I think you're forgetting actual swing voters.  They truly don't align with either party and are politically ambivalent.  Many of them have issues that matter to them, but they could be on either side of the aisle.  Further, they may not be likely to vote in mid terms or special elections.  So winning the EV at the state level can hinge on getting them to the polls on one of the issues that matter to them. Be it crime, abortion, gay marriage, etc.  I think elections swing on turnout of those people, plus the #2 and #4 above.

Good point! And is it fair to say that third-party voters are immaterial statistically?

I don't think we've seen a state be lost to that since 2000 when Nader took about 100k votes. You have to believe the vast majority were Gore voters.
