I love how we’re talking about a video game where a fungus turns people into zombies who are almost impossible to kill and the reality check people have is that Future Days didn’t come out until after the apocalypse, so it can’t be in the show.
I was on board with the zombies, but where I draw the line is using a song from 2013 in a 2003 setting!0 -

A few solutions:One or all of the members of PJ survive the apocalypse, still write the song, it just never lands on an album. They choose a pre 2003 pearl jam song to replace it? Which one would you choose?0

I really don't understand all this talk about if Future Days can be in it and what alternatives there are.
For one. It's a show adapted from a video game about zombies. Is anyone really going to be like "I was all into this zombie show, but then they played a song post apocalypse, now I'm out"?
And two, if it really is that important for the song to be there, they can easily find a way. Play it off as a song Joel wrote. Play it off as a popular song that existed already. 99% of the people watching the show aren't going to know its from LB and remember when that album came out. Everyone who probably knows that is on this forum.
I just figure if they really want FD on next season it will be there. If they don't care that much, they'll find another song.0 -

I think I have a solution that works. Can’t someone write the Showrunner and have Joel “write” a song for Ellie? He can tell her something along the lines that his favorite band was Pearl Jam and hes been trying to write a song iilike Ed would and after all this time together he thinks he’s got it? And then he plays. It’s not like hes jamming out in the VG version, he’s like a guy plucking a guitar and throwing out meaningful words. Meanwhile, it puts PJ back on peoples minds which I love. They can even have an end credit thanking PJ for the song. Case closed, someone write the person making decisionsChicago 6/29/98, Alpine Valley(EV) 6/13/99, Alpine Valley 10/08/00, Chicago 10/09/00, Phoenix 10/20/00, Orlando 4/12/03, Tampa 4/13/03, San Diego 6/05/03, Vegas 6/06/03, Phoenix 6/07/03, Chicago 6/18/03, Alpine Valley 6/21/03, Orlando 10/08/04, D.C. 10/11/04, Chicago 5/16/06, Chicago 5/17/06, LA 7/12/08, Chicago 8/23/09, Chicago 8/24/09, LA 10/07/09, San Diego 10/09/09 (Front Row Center, Finally), Phoenix(EV) 11/4/11, Wrigley 7/19/13, Phoenix 11/19/13, Denver 10/22/14, Wrigley 8/20/16, Wrigley 8/22/160

I think the perfect thing to do is have Joel and Ellie on their journey find themselves entering an old warehouse type place with music instruments and recording equipment or just a music studio. Inside they find a suitcase…..we know the one 😉 and inside the lyrics to Future Days. That way it could have been written years before it would have been put on the album.Post edited by Msharleydavidson on0

They could even find a recording of the song, who knows, maybe PJ survived the first 10 or more years of the apocalypse.
