High-end products that which demand outweighs supply will always have high values.
The intrinsic value of baseball cards is that there isn't any - there will always be value but it will always be relative to the overall market.
The moral of the story, with any boom (whether it be crypto, baseball cards, cars, tulips in the 17th century, etc etc etc) is to be able to identify a bubble early enough to make money off of it. Beyond that there is no underlying value.0

of course. I've been dealing in cards for 35 years and understand the market. What I had never seen was the covid spike of it. That was intense. Everyone wanted everything. Dumbest thing I've ever seen.Jearlpam0925 said:High-end products that which demand outweighs supply will always have high values.

What is good about it is I will be able to purchase the deemed worthless tulips from people for cheap and sit on them until the next boom.0

Well yeah, people were bored & stuck inside, they needed something to do (with their money), this was prevalent everywhere.0

Not like this. People from all over hopped on the train and actually had the 3 main grading companies stop taking cards because of a backlog.Jearlpam0925 said:Well yeah, people were bored & stuck inside, they needed something to do (with their money), this was prevalent everywhere.
 Never has that happened.
People also started buying more crypto and sent that into the stratosphere.
NFT's? People bought that crap too. NBA Top Shots is the best example of it. I didn't bother with it, though I should have bought and sold immediately if I did.
People did try their take on puts and calls so maybe that was a good thing they spent their money on?0

The influencers are working their magic again. Will be a squeeze on RIVN...
Lets see if they make it happen.0

didn't RIVN just lose a bunch of executives after missing delivery numbers?tempo_n_groove said:The influencers are working their magic again. Will be a squeeze on RIVN...

Yes. That is why they squeezed it. It made a run up to 20 and then they dumped it.mrussel1 said:

RIVN I fully expect to drop to like 12 before anything goes up. They can't keep anyone and that isn't good or execs just don't want to work on it.
 Great product, nice trucks.0

Does anybody here still believe in NFT's?
I still think it's the dumbest thing people put money into.0

I never even learned that much about NFTs. But I do know that I never got my NFT Pearl Jam tickets that TM was supposedly giving us from the tour last year. Did anyone else?tempo_n_groove said:Does anybody here still believe in NFT's?

Did anyone here EVER believe in them? I'm old school. I like things that are tangible, have some level of scarcity and actually are worth something. So that eliminates Bitcoin and NFTs from my portfolio.tempo_n_groove said:Does anybody here still believe in NFT's?

I had convos with people that would tell me that it's not just the NFT but the program that's written for it is where the worth is. I told these people that makes as about much sense as owning something you can't hold in your hands...mrussel1 said:

So maybe I didn't "get it" but I got it. I didn't invest one damn cent.
Those NBA topshot things I am soooo glad it was such a pain in the ass to join and get so I missed out. If I did I would have bought and sold immediately anyway. They were never going to be a hold for me.0

yeah that is kind of what i was getting at. if the trump ones are basically worthless most of the rest of them probably will be too.tempo_n_groove said:

like someone said above, if it is not tangible i will not invest in it.
seems like those websites trying to pump them up knowing they are a fool's investment might be doing something illegal. unethical at the least."You can tell the greatness of a man by what makes him angry." - Lincoln

I was asking on here because I thought somebody was in to them. I argued about them and could never get to why they liked them...gimmesometruth27 said:
